So much amazing detail revealed by Paul's photographic expertise! The detail shown is more than what we could observe through our own eyes. Great work (once again), Paul! Thanks for sharing!

Annisquam is another New England keeper for my collection. I've only visited this light once but its memory is still etched in my mind.

Nice detail shots!

It's just like looking at them at my local HL dealer.

Nice close-ups Paul!

Is that a broken railing at the near the back of the house by the boat ?

A must have and on my "wish" list!

I believe there was a note attched to the foam protection that the railing had been repaired on this lighthouse. It does look like maybe an end post might be missing... This is a Paint Sample snet to me to get the images out as soon as possible for the website.. It will be interesting to see the final release and compare it.. I will check for the note when I get home..

Nice work, as usual. Your photos really capture the essence of the piece. In addition, it's much easier to review your photographs then find a nearby dealer. smile

I talked to Harry about the railing and sent him the link to look at the railing and it was broken on the one I have, in fact part of the rail is missing.. Harry sent me a couple of images of how it will look in production.. They are below:

Looks like I need to go to Lowes to get another handrail..

Paul, ...If everyone could view the closeup pictures you put here, there certainly would be many more HL's sold. I feel your work is one of the best advertising tools for Harbour Lights showing the quality of their designs and work.

Paul,I definitely agree with Bob!
I looked at the picture of this piece when first posted on HL website. I thought it was nice and a "maybe" purchase. But after seeing your photos and all the details...it turned into a definite.
If we could see these details here or on HL site-it would definitely help to boost sales.

Thanks for the nice comments, I enjoy doing the detail images when I get the chance because I end up studying the light much closer than I would normally do otherwise..

I added a thread of Braddock Point Lighthouse images last night and will do some more when I get back from playing Grandpa this weekend at my son's home..

I absolutely agree with you Bob! These detail shots give new HL pieces a perspective that "entice" the collector to wanting that particular piece even more.... Very nice "macro" lens work Paul!

I use a 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor on my D2X Nikon. I use it for the full shots and the closeup work since it has continuous focusing from infinity to life-size. I have had a Micro-Nikkor lens in my camera bag almost since I bought my first Nikon F film camera in 1962.. I think the 55mm Micro-Nikkor came out in 1979 or 80.

This is a paint sample, I imagine the production run will have 2500 on them like John has stated on the HL website...

BTW the rest of my setup for shooting is two 1000 watt flat-pan lights with umbrellas.. I have an adjustable height artist desk with silver cardboard for the lights to sit on and the cloud background mounted on foam board on and easel behind the lighthouses..

I shoot at F32 at a 1/2 second exposure time (tripod and cable release of course) with the camera set at 100ASA.. I use Photoshop CS3 on my Mac 17inch Powerbook to work up the images (mobile photolab)..

And that is the rest of the story, plus 48 years of experience..

That flag is reading "/2500" not "12500".

What I want to see, strange as it sounds, is an image of the actual famous clouds.

Yes, I know that's very strange.

I will try and remember to add an image of the clouds on Monday when I get home.. I bought the clouds background at Office Depot several years ago and I guard the mounted clouds on the foamboard since they don't offer them any more..

The clouds are like Paul’s personal signature. If you see the clouds, you know that Paul Brady took the picture. Again Paul, as usual, fantastic pictures.

The fact that I have never visited this lighthouse would stop me from purchasing the HL replica.
