Picked up the first releases for the second half of 2002, Boon Island (LE)& Drum Point (Glow). The Boon Island is a tall narrow base piece that is well done & uses the same "technology" as the Monomony Point piece. The Drum Point Glow is also well done and I think looks more like the real LH than the LE. However, I need to look at some of my pictures from last year to verify. I think both will make good additions to collections for those that choose to get them.

Mine are on the way. They should be here tomorrow... for sure on Monday.

This is the earliest that the "Choose a Lighthouse" pick has been available. Perhaps HL had already done some preliminaries prior to its having been chosen? But then I believe that with a few exceptions HL has done a pretty good job of getting the lights out as scheduled. This was not true, say two years ago. Quicker last year and even quicker this year.

I received an email from my dealer that Boon Island is on it's way to my home. I'm looking forward to adding another New England Light to my collection.

BOb,

I sure hope mine isn't far behind! What a great list of new lights for the second half. Race ROck for the first half and Bullocks Point for the second half of 2002. Great year!

You are absolutely correct, Bert! 2002 has proved to be Harbour Lights' most interesting year yet!

I just received a copy of the latest HL flyer with the new version of Old Minot's Ledge. The new releases look great! I figure Boon Island should be here on Monday. Unknown on the others. My toughest decision is what to take from the curios to make room for the new pieces.

Boon Island arrived yesterday here in Mid-Hudson Valley and it's a beauty! The HL pieces just get better and better.

Isn't the way the houses are represented up tight against the tower a little extreme on the Boon Island?

I'd thought so too initially, Ken. But this photo from the Coast Guard shows that the buildings were pretty close to the tower.

Thanks for the photo Mombo! I got my Boon Island yesterday and it looks very much like that picture! Great tall figurine for a nice and tall lighthouse! Detail once again second to none!

Another well done edition!

Nice picture Mombo! YOu guys are making me jealous. I'm still waiting for mine to come in but patiently watching it make its way across the country. New York and Ohio are represented so maybe this week. I HOPE!

Picked up Boon Island today, very nice. But be sure you don't grasp it near the top of the tower where the elastic wires? are. They are nice and tight and much thinner than the elastic jobbers on Mononomy Point. Not a whole lot of decoration on this one but then this is a pretty desolate spot. Only a few posies present near the entrance to the main house.

Boon Island has arrived in Texas. Once again, Harbour Lights has outdone themselves. I love the height of the tower and the fact the the keepers dwelings were included. I've only seen this one through the telescope at Cape Neddick. Now I'll have to make plans to cruise out there!

I really like the trailing 'rust' below the lowest anti-sway supports - nice piece. I picked mine up at a collectible shop last week during a storewide 25% off sale - yep, a brand new lighthouse. I felt bad - but these small shops are in a bind, the Mother's Day/Father's Day 'season' is behind them - collectible sales are way down - and Christmas is a long way off. Times are tight - they need the cash-flow. I would certainly have paid retail... In fact, my closest H-L dealer/collectibles store hasn't received a new H-L since Old St. Augustine, never getting his Fresnels. I am beginning to wonder if he is still a dealer. I checked there Friday for Boon Island, to no avail, before going across town to find that other, fortuitous, sale... Now I have a Boon Island! Nice piece. Too bad about the narrow shelves... it really takes up the room - thankfully, though, it isn't a Navesink!

Well, I did say that usually I'm two weeks behind everyone in getting my lights. THis time it took even longer. I am pleased to say that I got a call this evening that my BOON ISLAND, ME had FINALLY arrived. I will go over and pick it up in the morning. I haad to have my dealer call HL to send it special as it would have taken even longer. Can't believe it! One surprise I got was that Watch Hill, RI (LLOM) and Colchester, VT (LLOM) had arrived also. Seems the LLOM arrive faster than the LE's. Might be looking into a new dealer pretty soon, if they can't get me the lights a bit faster.

Dick Johnson received his on June 13th. Mine is in on August 5th. Talk about Snail mail.

Bert wink
