Does anyone know where I can find info in regards to the lighthouse keeper of the Back River Lighthouse in VA? I know the first keeper was William Jett in 1829. I believe he was related to our family by marriage. I have seen articles on the BR Lighthouse and he is listed, am looking for descendants.
Thanks

Start with the Chesapeake Chapter of the USLHS. Not only do they cover the area you are interested in, they have been doing many research projects for the USCG archives. In any case, this would be a good starting place.

Thanks Dave,
It helps to have a starting point. We know he was the keeper, just trying to verify family relationship.
Thanks a bunch.

Hi Mac,
I sent you a contact from the CCUSLHS who might be able to help you out the best. Hope you find the information you are looking for. Good Luck!

Hi Shirin,
Thanks for the info. I have already sent an e-mail along the way.
Well, off to pack a few things and get ready for our trip. Hope to see several of the lighthouses along part of the west coast of Michigan over the next couple of days.
