How do you make the red smiley face that looks like the eyes are closed and the yellow smiley whose mouth is wide open?

Click on the 'edit' icon for that message (the paper & pencil) and you can see the text that translates to the smilies. The red smiley is a colon next to a lower case letter 'o'. I'll guess this is to show embarrassment.
