To eliminate all of the extra "this message was edited by...." messages each time you edit, just erase them as you edit a message. They will be within the edited text area once you start editing a message for the second time. Just look at the bottom of the text as you are editing each time, and delete. This way there will only be one, no matter how many times you edit a message
