Dennis,
FWIW, this does not open your album in a new window, which is what I believe you want it to do. I'll have togo back & look at all the pics. What I saw were very enjoyable. Thanks.

By default on the forums, when you enter a URL, the link will be set up so it opens in a new window. If an individual actually enters HTML, it probabaly won't be set up to open in a new window.

If you hold down the shift key while clicking on an underlined link (anywhere on the Internet, not just the forums), that link will open in a new window.

Don't be dismayed (or annoyed) by the fact that there are actually no pictures when you click on the icon. I edited the pictures into seperate albums so the correct pictures come up with the correct part of the narrative. you will fid this post in the Map Room- California LH's. I did not delete this topic because of john's post which is helpful to othrs (and myself- I did not know that). Dennis

John, thanks for another tip!

Dennis, are we to believe that Hereford Inlet is now in California or was that just a test?

Its relatively straightforward to cause a new browser window to open with your own HTML.

Here are instructions on how to name a link and have it open in a new window:

Here is some sample HTML:

Dilbert in a new window

You can cut and paste this for your own use. Here are the things to change for your own link.

1. put the site address you want to go to in place of www.dilbert.com - inside the quotes.
2. put what you want to call the link in place of Dilbert in a new window

Don't change anything else.

It is the target="_blank" that cause the link to display in a new window.

Here's what it looks like:

Dilbert in a new window

I knew about the shift & click, but in the forums one becomes used to most things automatically opening in another window. Thank you Tim for the infoon how to make it work in HTML.

Mombo, No Hereford Inlet is not in CA, but if you read the narrative carefully i mention that it and Point Fermin are very similar. I added that picture to illustrate that point. it's also why I have a picture of Weed Battery to show it's similarity to Fort Point. I was just trying to be helpful to those who have not seen any or all of the lighthouses involved. Dennis
