Collector Forums Masthead Photo

Please vote on your choice from these four possible images to appear as the masthead for these Collector Forums.

Voting commences now and will end September 29. The image with the most votes will appear for the month of October, the second most votes will appear in November and the third most votes will appear in December.

The fourth image (with the fewest votes) will be eligible for consideration in a poll taking place in December to select images for the first three months of 2007.

In the event of ties, all four images will be used and I will decide the order for those that tied.

Images are shown in alphabetical order on the name of the lighthouse.

Images which were submitted but not selected in the final four may also be considered again. If you have images you'd like to submit for consideration, we'll make another call for images in the first part of December.

One vote per registered members. Please NO CAMPAIGNING for one image or another. Each of these images clearly has the merits to be used. At least 3 of the 4 will be used and the 4th will remain in consideration for future use. You are voting for the photograph, not the photographer.

Thanks to the photographers who submitted images online or by email.

Hope everybody's voting! Can't wait to see the new masthead, although we sure have loved Jen's beautiful picture of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline - well most of us, I guess!

Only a small number of members have voted. Kind of dissappointing. I know that it's hard to choose, but I expected a better voter turnout.

Could something be a tad broke? I'm the type of person who will try anything once. But if it don't work, I blow it off. Could this be the case with the VOTE button also?

I just clicked on the results and got them fine... It is currently tied for the top vote..

Bob, I believe (but would not bet money on it) that you can only see the results just after you vote. Saints, as administrators, can see them at any time, even without voting.

You can see the results anytime - 'only if you're logged in' if you happen not to be a SAINT!

It may be, Bob Ott, that your trying to vote a second time removed the cookie that indicated you had voted, thus preventing you from seeing the voting results. (Kind of a built-in punishment?)

Not sure, though. I wouldn't try it again, though. I think the third-time punishment involves a shock delivered through your mouse.

Someone grab those members who are cruising through here and get them to log in and vote!

I had problems voting at first also. I just got out and re-booted and then it worked.

I agree wth what ever lighthouse photo wins. All four are winners in my opinion.

Actually, Debbie, that's a pretty good number. When you check the home page, you will see that there are frequently over 100 "guests" who view the CF posts but don't participate actively. Much of the time, there are fewer than 50 other people who actually sign in and fewer than those actually post. I think everyone who was going to vote has done so.

We need at least one more vote- we have a tie that needs to be broken.

No politicing- just observing.

Dennis, you are right. Now's the time for those who sign in but don't post to do so. Yeah, you know who you are! Although there are two pictures in the lead, if a few more people post, the results might change. Like Dennis, I am not promoting any picture over another. However, just as in political elections, your vote can make a BIG difference and sway the election.
