I understand giving some personal data about where you are from and when you first joined, but what is the purpose of listing the number of posts a person has made? Is there some sort of secret competition to get the most posts?

Whew...thanks for the explanations. I thought it might be a measure of one's masculinity. I was beginning to feel inferior and was developing "Post" envy!
