It was very appropriate that this happened in March....

Congratulations Mombo, Bob, and Dave.

WOW Dave! First 2000 posts, then a win of a miniature and now Sainthood! What next? Maybe GOLD!

Re: Sainthood - 03/06/02 11:45 PM

I am humbled. Thank you for the recognition and honor, John. I join a most esteemed group of individuals.

Now I may have to think about a trip to New Orleans to properly march in with the Saints. I will begin accepting donations in the near future.

Will I now be entitled to know the combination to the cyper lock recently installed on the executive washroom? From what Paul told me, I should also expect a little extra in my next pay envelope?

Congratulations!

Mombo, Bob and Dave.

Could not have happened to better people. The three of you epitomize the good things about these Forums.

You are equally quick with answers to questions asked by others or to challenge us with questions that need to be answered.

Not to mention the light moments you all give to us.

You deserve it. I hope to congratulate you in person at the Regional in April.

Dennis

Sean,

Don't be telling people where that badge came from or I might lose my newly acquired Saint status!

Re: Sainthood - 03/07/02 01:28 AM

"I would like to thank the Academy and especially the fans..."...oops wrong speech!

I'm thankful for being elevated into such an esteem group of people known as the "Saints". It's real rewarding to be recognized for things you consider fun and a labor of love.

It takes many hands and thoughts to keep the CF going at such a rapid rate. We all owe a big thanks to our "main-man", John Chidester, because without his efforts, none of this would be possible.

Thanks for everything, John! Congrats to Sue and Dave on their promotions!

Congrats Sue, Dave and Bob.
Couldn't have happened to better people. Your contributions to the Forums are always great. You actually already were "saints" in my book, you just now have the title. Outstanding choices John.

Congratulations newbie saints! Initiates should report to Clearing No. 3 behind the FSB at dusk (the one with the large Shoney's 'Big Boy' statue). We'll have apertifs and the Halo Convection Rite. Larry Storch (yes, from F Troop) will be Master of Ceremonies. Inductees are advised to empty their pockets of any articles made with aluminum foil. Upon reciting the pledge and signing the waiver, you will receive your t-shirt, single wooden match, your raw egg and your blindfold. And thanks to a grant from the Valentina Tereshkova Foundation we've rented enough bandwidth to broadcast the entire event planetwide on Fresnel in real time. Should be a lotta fun! Parking is $7.

And Bob, to set a good example, we'll be asking you to delete those 1,097 messages that have fewer than five words. :-)

Tim,

I am a little worried that you took the trouble to count up Bob's < 5 word posts. I am guesing that with the nice winter weather we have been having you and Mark have been able to finish all the spring cleaning at the FSB?

I appreciate the shindig you are throwing for us. Takes me back to my Chief's initiation days....

Congratulations to All the new and old Saints! It's been an education and an honor - first to meet you all here on the Forum, chats and email; and - secondly to have met you all in person at the Reunion, lighthouse trips and/or regionals. If you are participating in this Forum only - you've only reached the tip of the iceberg with this group of connected collectors.

Re: Sainthood - 03/07/02 09:20 PM

I've added the title to Saint to another individual today. He has been around the Forums since the beginning and was very involved in the old AOL Lighthouse Message Board, Although lately health has kept him from being as active in the past.

For all he's done for these Forums and the chats in the past, and the inspiration he gave us last summer as we followed him cross-country from San Jose to Baltimore, I'm pleased to announce:

Saint FredKuhl

Fred Kuhlman

A truly WACKO collector and moving force behind the founding of the Northern California Harbour Lights Club.

Congratulations to all SAINTS!!! Not since Simon Templar have we seen a more "worthy", "virtuous" and "seraph" group. Now lets all come together and celebrate with the "Vitus Dance"... thanks folks for making it so darn interesting!!!

Congratulations to all the new "Saints" and to the old ones as well. As was already stated, it is because of these "Saints" that we have such a great web site. Their knowledge and dedication to Harbour Lights and lighthouses in general have helped me become better informed in all areas. Thanks to all of you!

Wow, the first woman Saint! What an honor (and I didn't even have to burn my bra)!

While I'm a small time collector compared to many folks I certainly enjoy the forums and the facination of lighthouses. Thank you all for your contributions and especially the other Saints for their support.

Re: Sainthood - 03/12/02 05:37 AM

gee, Saint Ancient Mariner - can we call Fred SAM for short? Congratulations to a truly wonderful collector, and a most generous supporter of light house preservation. It was an honor to have Fred at our table Sunday morning in Baltimore as he proved how generous a person he is.

Wonder if his Sainthood will help on future cross country sprints (or, would a cop actually give a Saint a ticket?)

The Best To All of the New Saints Way to go guys & gal... Mombo...I love ya dearly but calling you "Saint Mombo" will be difficult...after all we have "tipped a few" and in no way could I say either of us were close to "sainthood"... Don't laugh Dave...your no "real saint" yourself. Bob, I don't really know you except here on the Forums so I will reserve my smart alec remarks for some later date. Oh I'm sorry now I get it...it's for all the work you do on the Forums...okay for that you deserve the title "Saint."

Re: Sainthood - 03/14/02 04:57 AM

Now that you mention it Ruthie, Saint does seem to be a bit of a misnomer for all three of us! You can call me anything Ruthie, as long as you're buying!
