HL Tutorials

With our newly redesigned website up and running, one of the things I have been wanting to accomplish is to provide more info about HL collecting to our customers. Many collectors today don't know much about Harbour Lights and what it is they really have gotten into. Let's face it, Harbour Lights can be very intimidating to new collectors (and even many old collectors).
To provide some insight into the world of Harbour Lights, I have begun a new feature on The Cape Cod Store.com website called "HL Tutorials". I will be periodically adding subjects and "lessons" concerning Harbour Lights collecting. It is easy to find right on the main navigation menu. This is a very good idea. This is similar what John Chidester did in 1997 to his first website. John educated us back in the early days of collecting so we would know what was out there to collect and of course would buy from his site. The info on his website was then carried over to the Harbour Light website. Just before the Harbour light website went done in 2011, I copied all of that information to word and still have it..

Concerning your tutorial on Society Pieces, besides Harbour lights boasting of 20,000 members, In 1999 the HL524 Baltimore, MD society member Gift peaked at a production of 26,748. I thought that was interesting. That is why I don't collect Society Pieces in the early years,(except for those in my southern collecting area). Too many of them which in my eyes doesn't make them much of an collectable.
