2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 02/26/13 02:38 AM

The 2013 1st Edition Harbour Lights Product List is now available for the asking in a PDF File Format for those that are interested. I have included many items in this list such as reference books, lighthouse stamps, description of common HLs terms and products and all the regular and special products produced by Harbour Lights.

There are 56 pages to this Product List and could be many more when I start getting input from the collectors out there with corrections, additions to the existing categories and additional products for a new category. One of the subjects that I want to add is the "Freebees" and "handouts" that were given at the Regionals, Store Events and Reunions. I will need this input plus any other input that you may find missing in this 1st Edition. I will update on a regular basis and provide these revised editions free of charge in the same PDF File Format. The reason for the PDF file is, you as a collector, will have to furnish me the updates, if you want it included for the revisions that will follow. As a Word File you could add them yourself and forget to send them to me.

If you are interested in the PDF File, please send me a request by email to flacoastie@embarqmail.com and I will send the PDF File to you as soon as I can (usually the same day). I also would like any updates, corrections and additions sent to me in an email that you feel needs to be addressed. I will review your input, but, the final decision will be mine as to whether it will be added. PLEASE be sure to include the HL Item Number (i.e. HL102, etc), the name of the item (i.e. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, etc.) the issue date and retirement date (as best you can remember), the cost (estimate if you don't know) and finally the edition size (if known). Once I have this information I will research from this end for correctness. Remember, it's better to have an item listed (even if some information is incorrect) than to not list it at all. There are enough "Eagle Eyed Experts" out there to furnish the correct information once the item has been added.

Pass this on to your collector friends, clubs, etc. and I will not hesitate to send them a copy.

Congratulations Rich on taking all the information that has been scattered through many sources and many years, and tucked it all into one source.

If you'll email me a copy, I'll upload it to the site and provide a link so others can download it.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 02/28/13 02:52 AM

Not this one John, but, thank you anyway. I want to keep track of the requests I get so when, and if I update, I can send out the updates to those that asked for one the first time. If we have it available for anyone to download I will never know this information and might never get corrections and additions for a revised version. Also, this is free to anyone and it only takes a minute for them to email me for a copy.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/08/13 04:25 PM

I've had a very good response from Forum members and non-Forum members requesting this 2013 Product List. For all that requested this PDF File, I just want you to know that when the first revised edition is ready I will automatically send the revised file to you.

I want to thank the Forum members that initially helped me gather the information for the initial 2013 PDF File. Foremost, is our Webmaster John Chidester, our Forums official photographer Paul Brady and Tony Constantino from Harbour Lights. Their publications, The Official Collectors Guide to Harbour Lights by John and Paul and the 2006 & 2009 Harbour Lights Product Listings put out by Tony, were an outstanding aid in putting together this 2013 Product List.

Individual inputs, reviews and corrections, from Daniel Kirsch, Dave Hannum, Gary Toth and Stan Maleszewski, just to mention a few, have made it possible to expand this Product Listing to more than just lighthouses.

Now that this intial listing is out the process of updating and making corrections is very inportant. I have had numerous inputs, both typos and corrections, from one of our newest members, Harry Outen, and hope to receive many more correction and additions from both members and non-members.

I have sent a copy to Harry Hine, after he and I talked last week, for his review. He promised me that he would review and also make a copy for Bill to review for any mistakes and additions and provide this input for the revised edition. I especially asked him to try and provide product numbers for the accessories and give me a list of the "Freebees and Goodies" handed out at the Reunions.

Again, I thank all of those that have participated so far and hope to hear from many more with ideas, suggestions, corrections and additions witin the next several months.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/22/13 02:39 PM

I have sent out 37 copies to date of the 2013 Product List and have only gotten 3 collectors to respond with corrections and additions. Either I'm better then I think I am or people are not taking the time to read and review this file. I need your input as I'm working on a revised list for giving out in June or July.

The one thing I've asked for is a list of "Freebees and Goodies" that were given out at the reunions. Surely someone out there that's reading this can provide me a list of items from each of the reunions. All I need is the item or item description, approximate size and which reunion. Send this information to flacoastie@embarqmail.com

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/24/13 10:53 PM

The Revised 2013 Product List I'm currently working on has been expanded to 98 pages at this time and should get larger as June arrives.

I'm still hoping to get inputs from the Forum members as to corrections and what they would like to see added, BUT, I have to get this input from the members. So far only HarryV, Sandy Jennings and Daniel have contributed to the revised list.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/25/13 08:35 PM

I haven't combed through your master list, Rich... But did it include a special version of the Thomas Point Little Light created for the dedication of one of the TP's screwpile legs in Bill Younger's name?

I created 50 "gold" (painted) versions with a glass dome and walnut base and a 'coaster' inside the base that recognized the event and date. These were available to about 38 people who accepted invites to the event. A 'coordinated' 3" pin-back button was also made in a quantity of 50. Bill signed all the buttons and autographed the bottoms of the special piece for those who accepted the invitations. The signing was done at the Thomas Point lighthouse. You can view the piece here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16549730/TP_Gold_Painted_LL.JPG

You might also comb the Harbour Lights archives -- with information on the past reunions 1997, 1998, and 2001. These might have lists of what was given away. http://archives.johnchidester.com/site_map.htm

This also has copies of most of the early brochures.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/26/13 05:24 PM

John - I'm working on a section now that will include items associated with HLs and items made by HLs that were never offered for sale. It's a work in progress that will include your hand painted lighthouse. Do you also have a pictuer of the button or can you describe it for me?

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 01/13/16 07:30 PM

I have just started a collection Harbour Lights and would like to get the product lists that you have available. I have the collectors guide but I would be interested in the pieces available after that time period. We would also be interested in other guides that are available that might be helpful if there are any. We are also collecting the Mark Sherman prints. Any information available on the Lighthouse Legacy magazine would also be a great help. I have collected from volume 1 number 1 to volume 9 number 3 and would like to have the complete collection. Looks like we are missing volume 9 number 4 to the farewell edition in spring of 2005.
Any assistance that you or the readers may be able to provide a novice collector who is a little late in the game would be fantastic. Thanks

Time does fly and the volumes have gone from 1 volume to 30 volumes and for the December update I hope to revive one volume that was in limbo and add a new volume.

Back in February

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/20/17 08:33 AM

I found that I sent you the files back in February but the email address I sent them to was a different one than you are using now. Fortunately I still had the history in my SENT FILES. I assume since you did not notify me of an email address change that you are still using the email address I sent them to in February.

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/20/17 11:10 AM

Yes you did Rich but I remember you saying that I better clean out my email because you were sending me a ton of information. My email was pretty much full so I gave you my Gmail because it was empty! I can change my email in my profile so that I can get stuff there! :) And I have changed my email in my profile to match the one you sent the info too! :)

Re: 2013 1st Edition HLs Product List Now Available - 03/20/17 05:50 PM

You can use any email you want for the Forums. Most collectors will contact you by private email unless you give them an email to use.

For my volumes, which are not part of the Forums, the email you gave me is in my file so I will continue to use that one for updates and informational emails.
