Restoration Specialists from International Chimney make repairs in the lantern room of the Currituck Beach lighthouse in Corolla, N.C. prior to April 10 when the lighthouse will reopen to the public for the 2006 season. International Chimney, well known for its expertise in lighthouse restoration, was contracted in 1999 to relocate the Cape Hatteras lighthouse and stations 2,900 feet southwest from a migrating shoreline.

Good to hear some positive news about Currituck - sure hope we can see it in June, Judy!

I'm sure we can, Grace. We may also be able to tour the inside of the beautiful Victorian double keeper's dwelling. I'm certainly going to ask.

The folks from International Chimney sure get around now don't they. Are there other companies who operate at the same level as them? It seems when it's time to move a lighthouse or make serious repairs, they are the folks involved.
