Windmill Pt. and Isle La Motte lose their "keeper" - 02/11/09 09:39 PM

Sadly Lucky Clark, owner of the Windmill Point and Isle La Motte lighthouses in Vermont, has passed away on February 5th. Lucky suffered a stroke a couple years ago and had been somewhat incapacitated since then.

Lucky was truly a one-of-a-kind individual, full of enthusiasm, and very dedicated to preserving the lighthouses which were the first to be re-lit on Lake Champlain in 2002.

Very sad to hear that. The lighthousing preservation world has lost a very dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you as I know he was a dear friend of yours Sue, as well as other members of this forum. Please send Rob our condolences.

Sad news indeed! I'm sure his family, friends, and all us lighthousers are proud of his accomplishments.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Lockwood 'Lucky' Clark was a dear man. I was lucky enough to meet Lucky, Rob, and Claire at Montauk Lighthouse many years ago. We continued to correspond through the mail and by phone through the years, and they shared their trails ans tribulations at the lighthouses. I had promised to get up there to see their accomplishments at both lighthouses but have not yet been able to keep my promise. I was able to refer a lot of people to them and they always respond 'where's Bob?'
Lucky will be greatly missed.
