More Legendary Lighthouses to air soon!

For those who don't subscribe to Lighthouse Digest or those who missed it, four new shows are set to air on PBS beginning Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm. Succeeding shows same day and time the next 3 weeks. My channel is showing two segments on the 17th and none on the 10th so be sure to consult your local TV channel.

The shows feature Lighthouses of Hawaii, Alaska, Eastern Great Lakes (YES!) and the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe I can get LH Depot to provide an advance copy of the series and we can watch them on the Coach tours.

What to do?
The new series Enterprise is on the same time as Legendary Lighthouses and the VCR doesn't record.

Yes...indeed! Hurry up and get a new VCR... I did a week or two ago as the old one was giving me a fuss. Woooosshhhh...out the door it went !!

At the cost of VCR's today, there is no reason not to pick up another one. Their cheap!!

However, I do plan on buying both series once they are available in DVD format in the near future.

I will pick one up. If I have any money left.
Doen't look to good. My Harbour light Habit keeps me from getting alot of things I need.

Well Daniel...lets put things in perspective here. Now I love Harbour Lights as much as anyone here...but if it came down to choice between having a working VCR or one of the newest releases (which could cost about the same as a cheaper VCR)...I think I would forgo the latter. Its funny how much a functioning VCR has become a virtual necessity in the home over the past 20 years

I think we can now post a picture of Daniel in the dictionary where the definition of Harbour Lights Wacko is.

As much of a neccisity a VCR has become, it's amazing how many people still don't have a clue as to how to use theirs.

I know plenty of people who can only record if they stand there and push record as the show starts.Programming is beyond their realm.

It justs gets more complicated as it goes along.

I'll agree with that. When I took my new VCR out of the box and set it up for the first time last week after the 10+ year old one went flying out the window, it took my a good chunk of an hour to set the dang thing up and figure out how to program it. I think the older VCRs were easier to use then the lastest ones that can do everthing except go out and buy your HLs for you at your dealer.

Since the Legendary Lighthouse Series is on DVD format, I now ask myself why I ran out and purchased a new VCR just to tape it on TV which I probably won't even view as I plan on buying the series on DVD format. Huh!

Today I watched Alaska and Eastern Great Lakes some interesting sections in each but I think # 1 was better for some reason it kept your attention more than this one.Bill O'Brien

This evening on PBS, 8 pm (EST), "The Lighthouses of Alaska" will be aired. Check your local tv schedule.

I enjoyed the gulf of mexico best but still think no. 1 was much better.#1 held my attention more than #2 did.Bill O;Brien

Already I'm a week behind as I have to wait until next week for the second show to be aired along with the third. Better than the first series here though. That time we only got the first 3 and no 4th. The re-runs were delayed several times but finally I got to see the last show!

I'm getting excited! Part 3 on the Eastern Great Lakes will be aired on the 17th here in Michigan. It contains a segment on the lighthouse I have been helping to restore for the past 2 years, the Saginaw River Rear Range Light.

Watch for it!

Hey, we got to watch them last week on our bus trips. They are nice shows.

I thought I set my VCR last night. But as I was watching, I noticed the VCR wasn't running. I got it started 10 minutes late. it's a good thing they repeat it on Sunday afternoon!

My 8 year old daughter who whines, moans and complains the entire time we are lighthousing now wants to go to Alaska! WOW, it sure is pretty up there.

Todd - We saw the Eastern Great Lakes on the bus tours last week. When they showed Saginaw River light, I waited for them to mention your name. It seemed only natural that they might show your group.
