No I wasn't, but I know a lot of Coasties and have a great respect for the Coast Guard. They are extremely under funded and heavily over worked, and they don't ever seem to get the respect that they deserve.

Totally agree - about the respect, in particular. But that's due to a lack of knowledge, don't you think? I certainly have developed a much deeper respect since I've learned more about them. They are tops in my book now!

Yep, heared that saying from several Coasties.

I believe LCDR Teschendorf was the last CO of the SUNDEW (WLB 404), and then became the first CO of the ALDER (WLB 216).
