What's the Mackinaw up to This Summer?

Now moored in Cheboygan for a few days of underway training.

Beginning Saturday, July 14th, the Mackinaw will serve as the Patrol Commander for the Chicago to Mackinac Yacht Race.

The Mackinaw is underway, heading for Chicago for the Mackinac Yacht Race that begins Saturday. Should arrive at Navy Pier sometime Thursday.

Anybody going to view the race? Take photos and say "Hi" to the Mackinaw crew!

For the next two weeks... Warranty Work in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Then back to Cheboygan by Oct. 1 for TACT training.

A haunted ship on the agenda this year too.

Then buoy work starting this fall in northern Lake Michigan and working along the Door Peninsula before the icebreaking season begins.
In December, the Mackinaw will make it's second tour to Chicago as the Christmas Tree Ship.
