Bidding on eBay for HL's - 10/04/03 01:58 AM

Your in the market to add to or fill in some missing pieces in your HL collection. An older 5500 edition HL appears on eBay with a low opening bid, and no reserve. It originally retailed for around $60 but has sold for as much as $100 over the past couple of years. It is described as being in excellent condition, with the original box, and shipping and insurance total $12.

Answer the following five questions about what you might do regarding this piece in excellent condition or as other factors are introduced in the question and answers.

Too bad you can only choose one response for the last question. I would have checked all of them.

All four answers to question 5 could easily be correct, but I wanted to find out what bothered people the most to not bid on an item.

It looks like "negative feedback" is in the lead right now.

This poll has been active for almost a week with 43 people responding so far. The results indicate:

Most people would bid somewhere between retail & fair market value;

Most people are discouraged from bidding by any type of damage, no matter how small;

Apparently, anything to do with the box, or lack thereof, doesn't matter;

There isn't much interest in bidding on a piece you already have;

AND, ...the biggest turn-off is negative feedback on the seller's history.
