Tennessee Reef Beacon part 1 of 2 - 08/09/06 06:30 PM

Getting to Tennessee Reef involves a boat ride of at least four miles. This is Ian my 2nd child driving LIGHTHOUSE HUNTER. When we got closer to the light, Susan took over and got me close for the lantern room shots.

From a distance.

This set of clouds did not rain on us, but much later that day we got hit hard (waves coming over the front of the boat). But it was summer and you are going to get rain almost everyday.

Full view.

There was eight of these made, which added to the regular reef lights along the keys, however, these were automated from the first day, so they never had a keeper.

Look for next post for the lantern room shots.

You should send some to Russ Rowlett for his page about these lights, I sent him mine of Molasses Reef & the Pacific Reef Lantern room yesterday. He's looking for pics of these lights.
