Amazing John! Thanks for sharing the link!

I don't do a lot of wildlife - it seems like I don't have enough opportunity since I don't live out west, but on my recent trip to California I managed a trip to Bolsa Chica Waterfowl Preserve and managed to get a decent shot of a Great White Egret .

If anyone wishes to see a sampling of my California pictures from February, click here . If you wish to see each image larger just click the photo.

Speaking of wildlife, bird fans might enjoy the images on my website. There are also a few modest and humble lighthouse images there.

SkyMountain -- thanks for posting that link. Nice, eclectic gallery of photos. I think this is the first time you've posted about your photos -- and they are a batch of which to be proud.

So what puts you in the position to photograph those military planes? And what kind of equipment are you using?

John,

I think you started something. The pictures are great on all three of the above sites. Thanks for starting this. Make me want to grab the camera and try my luck.

JChidester: Thank you for the kind words regarding the images. I made the switch to strictly digital about one year ago. The aircraft images are taken at airshows and military bases. The 'Desert Wings' image was taken at the China Lake Top Gun School training site near Death Valley. - Dan Sheehan

Sorry, Jen...

I didn't mean to overlook your post and links. I looked at the Egret photo and like it but missed the other link until just now. Fabulous as usual.

Thanks for taking us along on that California trip.

Jen, You sure encountered a major difference in temperature on your California trip. Snow in some and sunshine and warmth in others. All great as usual. All of you are definitely an inspiration to get out and take more and better pictures. I thank all of you for getting the adrenalin flowing. Now where did I put my camera?

Wow is right! Nigel's photos are amazing. I'll have to check out his tips about photographing birds in flight. Thanks, John, for finding this!

Jen, your photos are beautiful. I love seahorses. I haven't had an opportunity to see any while scuba diving. So, I try to go to aquariums when I have the chance. Your egret and other bird photos are great.

Dan, I love your landscape, lighthouse and wildlife photos! Your "Snow ? What Snow ?" photo is one of the best deer photos I've seen. It's beautiful. I was hoping to photograph deer in my area in the winter. However, I didn't see any until the snow melted. Smooth Landing is a great shot! Have you ever photographed wood ducks? We have wood ducks out back. However, they are so shy and fly away before I even get close to them. Please be sure to let us know when you add more photos to your website.

If wildlife lovers are interested in Trumpeter Swans, I posted a few more pictures in Nothing to do with anything...

Dan, I loved your photos of St. Joe and South Haven! Your military aircraft shots are cool too! Thanks for sharing your website!

Bert, my mom was teasing me when I took those snow shots. She said we could get snow in Michigan; what did I want shots of snow in California for?! laugh We went up to the mountains for an afternoon. I told her since it was pouring rain that day, I'd at least like to get some scenic mountain shots. Can't get those in Michigan!

Tammy: I haven't had the opportunity to photograph wood ducks. I have a few places where the ducks and geese tolerate my existence and will allow me to get close enough to take a decent shot but there are no wood ducks there. Capturing a duck in flight is a real chalenge because of their speed. Thanks for the kind words regarding the deer. Dan Sheehan
