I uploaded a few (about 400) photos from our recent trip to Hawaii, Washington and Oregon.

I'd say that more than half of them are of Lighthouses.

I browsed through a few of them so far. I especially find the one of the Concorde cool - I havn't seen what G-BOAG looks like in her new environs from that perspective. (I'm a huge Concorde fan). I've seen both of the other US Concordes, G-BOAD in NYC and F-BVFA in Dulles. Were you able to go aboard the plane?

We took a walk through the Concorde. I wasn't overly impressed by the creature comforts.

The interior seemed a bit cramped to me . I'm sure the aisle was a bit larger without the plexiglass but the seats don't look as large as you get in most first class sections.

I guess you really had to want to get somewhere in a hurry. The Concorde at the Museum Of Flight is the one that made the last commercial flight- or so they told us- as well as the one that Phil Collins used to fly between the two Live Aid sites in 1985 so he could be the only person to perform at both of them.

I believe he performed in London and then flew to the US for the show in Philly- at least that would make sense with the time difference as it is.

If I remember (can't find the source, so I'm not sure), she had to be that narrow because of the high speeds she travelled at. The smaller diameter fuseleage gives her less resistance and thus allows her to fly faster. I guess the cramped interior was a result of that.

I'm sure it was built like that for that very reason- it sure wasn't for the comfort.

I took a look at that site- it has more than I ever wanted to know about the Concorde.

Looks like you folks had a great trip Dennis. Thanks for the photos. I especially like the views of some of the western lighthouses that aren't usually shown. Helps those of us who've never been there get a better idea of how they're situated.

Yeah, we had a good trip. We got to most of the Lighthouses I planned for- only missed a couple of long distance ones. I tried to plan time better than in the past- but we still could not do everything we wanted to do at each place.

That's life. I've decided that I'm not getting up at the crack of dawn and trying to fill every second of time. You can't do it so I'm going for a slower pace and do what we can do.

Heck this time I didn't even look at the days or times that the Lighthouses were open. I know from experience you can't get to all of them at the right time so I went when I could and saw what was available.
