Michgan Lighthouse Fall Color Tour...Part 1 - 10/13/03 04:52 AM

I was up in northern Michigan this past weekend and with the gorgeous weather and fall colors at peak, I got some great shots. It was also the Alpena Lighthouse Festival, so I got an opportunity to climb the East Tawas Lighthouse, an active beacon normally not open.

The fourth order lens, automated.

View from the tower. Lake Huron, like Lake Michigan, currently has record low water levels.

Sturgeon Point Light, in Harrisville.

New Presque Isle. We got there after Old presque had the gates closed so we weren't able to get back there.

Old Presque Isle Rear Range Light.

Forty Mile Point at sunset.

These were all taken Friday 10-10.

Very nice Jen! It's interesting to see photos of the first three together as the towers are so similar to each other.

Also interesting is that Forty Mile Point resembles (somewhat) Thirty Mile Point in NY.
