One Second Frozen in Time

One Second Frozen in Time - 12/04/02 05:35 AM

Depending on the setting selected, my Nikon F5 bodies will give you either one frame for each push of the shutter button, a continuous 4 frames/sec (fps), or in the totally insane mode, 8 frames/sec. Last Saturday during the gale at St Joe's I did shoot some multiple frame bursts with the camera on the 4 fps setting. The photos that follow of a wave enveloping the St Joe's north pier outer light in a roiling cloud of spray freeze that 1 second in time to remember what it was like every time one of those big waves slammed into the north pier! I'll certainly not forget it any time soon!

A great series, Gary. I'm still impressed that you got such clarity handheld in those conditions.

Remember those action baseball cards?
This would make a great action photo as you rotated the card and the scene changed 1-2-3-4!
Or a 4 part framed in sequence.
