A few more pics... - 08/09/04 05:19 PM

Sorry to be posting too many pictures but John and I saw so many beautiful lighthouse settings that I'm just adding a few more.

Split Rock doesn't need any words. The pictures speak for themselves. I could have spent the whole day here.

Big Bay is another beauty of a lighthouse.

I'm posting this lighthouse because it is a different one that you don't see too often. It is called Sand Point and is near Baraga on an Indian reservation. We had a very nice lady give us a private tour of the grounds and house. It is in surprisingly good condition. She said they hoped to be able to do tours within the next couple of years if they could get funding in place. Our group left a donation for them to get started.

Lorie... NEVER, NEVER apologize for posting pictures of lighthouses here in the Collector Forums! That's what we all LIVE for!

Thanks for sharing your pictures in this thread and the others.

Keep 'em coming. Nice job on them all.

Lorie,

Great photos! I love the flowers in the foreground of the lighthouse photos. I'm glad you posted a photo of Sand Point since we didn't get to see that one.

Some day I'll have to visit Split Rock in the summer.

More great shots Lorie. I want to go back to the Great Lakes for several weeks. Thanks again for sharing.

The more pics the better, Lorie! It's one of the most important offerings of the CF. Whoever said, "A picture is worth a thousand words", was correct!

A nice feature of pictures is to view the lights at different angles, different weather conditions, different times of the day, etc. Individual photographers come up with different compositions which teach others a few things they may not have thought about when photographing the same light.

Like Paul says, "Move your feet!" Keep those pictures coming!

Great Lakes, Reunion, can't wait to get up to that area after looking at all the photos that are posted from that area. We plan to make it a long vacation and take advantage of being in the area, for the first time.
