Grand Haven Light Show - 09/28/02 05:33 AM
This scan is one of the shots taken the other night at Grand Haven just after the sun dropped below the horizon. This was shot on Fuji Velvia and I hope will give everyone an idea of the spectacular color we had that night, none of which was enhanced in the computer!!!
I'll post more from that session as I get them scanned.

Gary,
If my wife told me to pick ONE of your pictures to have done as a poster for the basement...I couldn't do it!

Before the sunset light show started up, we had fantastic light last week the afternoon we were at Grand Haven. The winds were kicking up from the southwest, which always produces some interesting waves to the south of the south pier... and that afternoon was certainly no exception. This was shot on Fuji Provia 400F using a 300 mm f4 lens, hand held.

Great shot, Gary and Bill -- even if I have seen them before!! At some point, I'll post some of mine if anyone besides you two are interested.

POST THEM, TERRY!!!!
I sure want to see them and I suspect everyone else who wasn't there that night would like to as well!!!
Gary
LOL -- well, as I just told you a moment ago on AIM, Gary, after reading your instructions, I might have to resize some of them in order to post them there. They're sized for posting on Photoblink and Shuttercity which allow a little bigger sized photo than what I remember your instructions said.
OK, here's one of them, if I didn't lose the address, etc., when my server cut me off!!
and here's another:

Thanks again guys... I really enjoy these....
I really like the second shot, Terry. Nice color in the sky, composed well. The first looks like it was promising, too bad you got a bit of jitter.

I am green with envy.
Those shots are gorgeous. It comes down to being in the right place at the right time with the right equipment and enough talent to know when to use it.
It also helps to have a lighthouse in you backyard! Lucky stiffs.

it's nice to have beautiful weather for shots unlike the drab, dreary day I had in Portsmouth, NH. Great shots!

They're all fantastic photos, but by far Bill's is my favorite. Great job, guys!

I was out at the lighthouse, "in my back yard" so to speak this afternoon, Joe. Make you a tad greener?
