What's Up for 2010 ??? - 02/25/09 12:01 AM

If the 2009 line is hitting the shops that must mean Harry, Tony, and crew are working on the 2010 lineup.

What do you think we're in store for???

Here's what I'd like to see:

1) Tinicum Range – NJ ( Long overdue and part of the NJ Lighthouse Challange).
2) Duluth South Outer Breakwater - MN (I would also be happy with the North breakwater).
3) Point Cabrillo - CA
4) Miah Maull Shoal - NJ
5) Blackstone Light - MD
6) Minnesota Point - MN (Maybe a then and Now set).
7) Wood Island - ME
8) Bergen Point Light – NJ (Gone but not forgotten) (I think pics of this one have been hard to find).
9) Either Barnegat or Liberty Lightship (for an Anchor Bay release).
10) Huntington Harbor - NY

Here Hoping !!! cheers

I would really like to see Point Cabrillo done. It should have calla lilies. They grow wild there, down the cliff edge. So beautiful

Second picture down on the left.
Guess it could have a mountain lion, there were warning signs. eek

When I got my LLOM of Point Cabrillo, I looked in my curio of CA lights for the LE Point Cabrillo. I had all the CA lights and was sure it was in there! It didn't dawn on me that it hadn't been made until I looked on my inventory sheet and then the guide. I wonder since we have a LLOM if the LE will now have to wait a while.

I sure hope we get a Point Cabrillo. When I heard HL had made a LLOM I figured it would be awhile before a LE was made.

The next time Sue and I get to the left coast I want to stay at Pt Cabrillo since they now are a bed and breakfast. They were restoring the keeper's house when we were there a few years back when we stayed at Point Arena just down the road. It is a little pricey but the money goes to a great cause!

HL made a Pottawatomie LLOM in 2007 and an LE in 2008. So the possibility for a LE of Point Cabrillo or even Huntington Harbor in 2009 or 2010 in good!

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 02/26/09 04:59 AM

I think we should settle for the Pt. Cabrillo LLOM...it's small, good looking, and already a limited edition...

6- Huntington Harbor - NY

8- West Rigolets - LA
9- North Head - WA (GLOW)
10-Sabine Pass - LA (LLOM)

If the Oakland Harbor light you are calling a replica is the one that is now on the waterfront as a restaurant, it is the second light, just relocated with a replacement lantern room. Oakland Harbor Light The original light was removed according to Lighthouse Friends and others.

Quinn\'s Lighthouse Restaurant - I have stopped by here for a meal several times. One time I had one of the largest hamburgers I can ever remember trying to finish.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 02/27/09 05:22 AM

Here's a few I'd like to see made:

Mile Rocks, CA
Makapuu Point, HI
Cape Fear, NC
Cape Mendocino, CA
Old Point Adams, OR

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/06/09 05:30 PM

Rock, I like the Mile Rocks and Cape Mendocino suggestions. Mile Rocks as it was would be nice, or maybe a then and now set.

Cape Fear is also on my wishlist, but I thought it was too similar to both Tinicum Range and Crooked River. Still should eventually be done.

Not sure why, but I have a feeling Makapuu Point- HI could be a 2009 release. If not lets hope we see another Hawaii release in the near future.

Old Point Adams - OR, looks a lot like Point Fermin and Hereford Inlet. Not many pics can be found to see if there are any differences.

Nice to have someone around here agree w/me on something...hey Loon, do you know, which one is black and next to a baseball (or softball) field...is it Tinicum or Finns Point? Saw it on a USLHS tour in 2000 in the pouring rain and can't remember...

It's Tinicum.

I enjoy speculating or wishing for what HL's are future releases. I wish more CF members would also.

Based on what HL is doing this year, it's not a waste of time. Instead of just excepting what's released, or whining about why they did a certain replica or when are they finally going to release a replica of a certain light, we should post our wishes here.

Maybe the Collectors Choice idea will spark some collectors old and new.

How about the Bridgeport Harbor Light for a Gone But Not Forgotten release?

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/10/09 07:54 PM

Of the few lights on my wish list, I am now focusing on only 1 light to be created by Harbour Lights before I croak ......

Winter Harbor, Maine

....also referred to as Mark Island by the locals. Would like to see the boathouse, rocks, and a pine tree or two with the lighthouse piece.

I have been asking for this piece since about 2002, someday I hope to strike gold!

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/11/09 08:18 PM

I am also focused on one lighthouse at this time and have been asking for it since our trip to Maine in 2003 and it is Wood Island, Maine.

I 2ND YOUR CHOICE OF WOOD END.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/30/09 04:11 PM

Since no LLOM are to produced this year, sure would like to see at least one Florida Reef Light made (of course all 6 would be even nicer).

Speaking of Reef Lights, just two left. Sombrero Key (the tallest) and Alligator (survived the 1935 Hurricane, but with lots of damage).

Jones Point (VA) would be great.

A bird cage lantern room with a Winslow-Lewis light would be great. They could use Cape St. George or Old Cape Henry.

How about the Haig Point front range light for a lost light (that moves as the real one did).

Boca Chita (FL) would be beautiful (I know it was privately built and some doubt it was ever lit, but it's got great architecture). I been inside but they would not let us in the lantern room (it would be a bit dangerous the way the ladder is done, but I would do it, if given the chance).

Cordouan (France) just has to be done. What a lighthouse. Cost was no object. Army barracks, chapel, royal bedroom, marble floor at the bottom, very tall...what more could you want from a lighthouse???

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/30/09 06:09 PM

I'd give up additional Florida lights for the next couple of years to see Jone's Point and Barber's Point Lighthouses made. Daniel and I wanted Jone's Point for our 2nd exclusive but we were outvoted by the committee and members. Barber's Point and any Alaskan light would be my 2nd and 3rd choice after Jone's Point.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/30/09 08:06 PM

Eric, I agree with you about Cordouan Lighthouse, the only probably is the best part of it is the interior. Harry would almost need to do a cutaway version much like the Umpqua lens.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/31/09 01:13 AM

A Jones Point replica would be great to see in 2010.

I'm hoping for a couple NJ releases since it looks like their are none in 2009.

Tinicum Range and Finns Point are both part of the NJ Lighthouse Challenge, so they would be great additions.
Bergen Point would be a great Gone But Not Forgotten selection.
Plus a Miah Maul Shoal or Cross Ledge replica would be great.
Many more like Romer Shoal or Robbins Reef also.

I guess HL will get around to them eventually. bow

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 03/31/09 03:46 AM

I wanted to make a model of La Corbière the first time I saw a picture of it. It looks like its built of sugar cubes.
Cordouan in a cut away (or opening on a hinge?) would be very cool.
A birdcage lantern would be best with the glass lantern like the lit models.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 04/01/09 03:02 AM

Cordouan could have hinges so it could be open to see inside or closed to see the outside. It is a fine looking lighthouse inside and out. Hope to see it one day.

Harry did an 'open the hinges' for an inside view of the tower for Turkey Point.

I would like to see a larger edition of Point Lookout Maryland. There is a Little Light so much of the work should be already done.

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 07/24/09 05:14 PM

With all the ooh's and aah's over the Blackistone LLOM, I'm hoping for a regular sized LE in 2010!

In 2007, after seeing the Pottawatomie LLOM, I made a wish for a regular sized LE and there it was in 2008. vhappy

bow Oh great and wonderful Harry! bow

Re: What's Up for 2010 ??? - 07/24/09 11:15 PM

Of course now that I've seen the DeTour Reef LLOM, I'm also hoping for one of those as an LE next year !!!
