Alaskan Lighthouses

I'm sure Alaska has a few lighthouses. Why not include them in the HL line?

Any other opinions on this subject?

Alaska LHs sound interesting. Do you recommend any one in particular?

"Okay then how about Baranof"s Castle at Sitka. It was Alaska's first lighted navigational aid. It was a simple torch inside the cupola. It was also on Castle Hill that the Russians and Americans held a small ceremony that turned Alaska over to us for a mere 7.2 Million. It was on Castle hill, Sitka, Alaska, on October 18, 1867 that the Russian flag was lowered and the Stars and Stripes was raised in its place. Here we have a great combination of a very early primitive navigational aid, and the significant raising of the US Flag. They seemed to go hand in hand. Would any one out there vote to have the flag flying in front of this and having it be a special piece?

If you ever get a chance to do the Inside Passage cruise, do it. It is a awsome trip including the passing by of some of the lighthouses along the way and usually a stop in Sitka. Sitka is full of all kinds of history.

YES TO ALASKA (or is that "north"?)
Maybe an Alaskan Christmas piece would be nice with a dogsled team loaded down with presents for the kids, or a polar bear floating by on a chunk of ice (another place where Harbour Lights could get into the Acrylic medium for the water and ice), or maybe an icebreaker plowing it's way through the frozen waters near the lighthouse. This could be another chance where Harbour Lights (lighthouse) and Anchor Bay (ice breaker), two seperate pieces could be made to fit together (or enjoyed individually).

Yes to an Alaskan lighthouse! Yes to the Christmas piece even though we may have to wait an additional year for design and production work.
