REDFISH BAR CUT Lighthouse (?) - 06/27/00 06:10 AM

Found this great looking LH while surfing the lighthouse links from the HL website:

I belive it is/was the REDFISH BAR CUT Lighthouse in Texas. It sort of looks like Boca Grande mounted on a Thomas Point type screw-pile.

It would certainly make a very nice HL piece IMHO

I love those "screwpile" lights!! Thanks for the post. It doesn't show up in any of my LH books or maps so I can't say for sure whether it still exists or not. It probably had the same fate as most of Virginia's screwpiles....torn down or burned in the bay during the 60's and 70's.

Yes And No John. The light in the background is the old Redfish Bar light. I've seen this photo before, and The caption said that the channel had moved so they built a new light.
