The link above will take you to the newly released spoontiques image of Avery Point Lighthouse, in Groton, CT.

This lighthouse was built by the USCG in 1943, when they occupied the Avery Point site as a training facility during the war. The lighthouse was built as a memorial to lighthouse keepers everywhere and was an active aid to navigation up until 1967.

Spoontiques is the first company, that I know of, to produce a miniature of this lighthouse. It's a cute rendition of the lighthouse BUT I know that Harbour Lights miniature of this lighthouse will be much better.

I'm looking forward to the day when Harbour Lights does this lighthouse. If you wish to know more about this lighthouse you may visit the Avery Point Lighthouse Society website at:

Thanks Ron - I agree, it is a nice model but am sure Harbour Lights can beat this by a mile. Also am looking forward to Bill Younger giving the OK to produce the Avery Point Model!!

In the mean time - it is nice to have a model to use for fundraising. Those who are interested can cantact me at JIMSTREETR@aol.com ($15.00 each plus shipping)
