Stony Point Lighthouse On The Hudson - 03/24/00 02:50 AM

With rumors that HL will be producing the Rondout Lighthouse in Kingston sometime in the not too distant future (we hope), I would like to see them produce Stony Point as an Event piece next year to coincide with the 175th anniversary of that lighthouse and to also complete the Hudson River series.

All that remains today is the tower.

Great link and photos, Mike - thanks for sharing. I'd like to see the Stony Point Light as well - it's anniversary would be a great time!

Great Link Mike!

I think you have a great idea there. Finishing up the Hudson River series in this way would be wonderful. Hope Bill and Co. are listening!

Thanks Mike. I think your suggestion is a good one. My husband is from Catskill, NY and grew up on the Hudson. His favorite HL are the Hudson River series. Back at the first reunion in 1997, we were given the chance to guess on what the next C.C. piece would be. I submitted Hudsen-Athens. It didn't make it as the society piece but obviously Bill & Kim were listening because it sure turned out to be a top 10 favorite for 1999. I also toured the Kingston-Rondout Lighthouse last August. This will be a great addition to the Hudson River series. I hope you're right that HL has this one in the works.
