Lighthouse Puzzler - 03/25/01 09:14 PM
In the last six months, (for the purposes of this puzzler) each of these forum members visited a certain number of lighthouses.
[*]Derith Bennet visited 4
[*]Bob McKeon visited 3
[*]Suzanne Murphy visited 4
[*]Sean Thompson visited 4

Well, that was my other guess, I was counting vowels in their names excluding the sometimes Y, but if you included the Y, six fit Tim's but not Suzanne's. So I am guessing it is something compleatly diffrent

Here's how I came up with 6 John.
Derith Bennett visited 4
4 syllables/ 4 Lighthouses Same number
Bob McKeon visited 3
4 syllables/ 3 Lighthouses Minus 1
Suzanne Murphy visited 4
4 syllables/ 4 lighthouses same number
Sean Thompson visited 4
3 syllables/ 4 Lightouses plus 1
How many did Timothy Aucremann visit?
6 syllables/ 6 Lightouses same number.
Did I guess your progression or just make a lucky guess?

Re: Lighthouse Puzzler - 03/26/01 08:09 AM
It's a progression based on the number of vowels, including Y.
Same dErIth bEnnEt visited 4
Same bOb mckEOn visited 3
-1 sUzAnnE mUrphY visited 4
Same sEAn thOmpsOn visited 4
Same how many did tImOthY aUcrEmAnn visit?

Re: Lighthouse Puzzler - 03/26/01 03:45 PM
Vowels it is - but NOT including "Y". That's why Suzanne Murphy visited 4, not 5, therefore Timothy Aucremann visited 6 not 7. (You missed the "A" in Aucremann.)

You mean it wasn't because he joined the Lighthouse of the Month Club?

This is why I don't do these puzzles. my mind does not work in the corect way for them.
Even when I get the right answer I get it wrong.
At least my first answer works , even if it was not the method you chose.

Hmmm..... I actually had it right and did miscount due to overlooking the A in Aucremann

I think everyone who spelled my name correctly deserves some sort of a prize :-)
