I'll start.

Sadly I do not know whether or not she is still afloat. She was a Chesapeake Bay lightship who served until 1919 but am not sure if she was scrapped. She was stationed near the James River in VA.

Now THAT is an interesting light! Where did you come upon that? cool

Re: Number Lights - 08/26/04 02:01 AM

Yeah, I forgot the name of the lighthouse at first. Well as I said, it's long gone!!!!

I've known about that one for a long time thanks to Mike, the Lightkeeper. Here's a link to his site which features this light as well as the other Hudson River lighhouses past and present.

http://hometown.aol.com/thelightkeeper/HudsonRiverLightkeepers.html

In the fall of '99 we located the area where this light was and a house that may have been the keeper's house.

My first link is a neat site as it takes you along the Hudson pointing out all the historical sites.

This is a good game, Greg. You're doing a nice job here. smile

Doubling Point Range Light just past Fiddlers Reach Fog Station on the Kennebec River in Maine.

Its not exactly a number, but it is mathematical in nature.

Re: Number Lights - 09/02/04 05:14 PM

Wow, I didn't even think of mathimatical variations or numbers in the middle of names. It's OK with me...adds another dimension to the game. smile
