OK, well I know there's folks around who've seen more FL lighthouses but I guess they aren't checking in right now. Soooo....in order to give St. John some competition in the Games Forum perhaps it's time to move on to a state that has quite a number of lighthouses......Michigan!!!

Come on, guys! I know there are people out there who have seen unposted lights. There's 116 lights in Michigan. We have barely skimmed the top!

I'm seeing too many posts by Lorie, Paul, and Sandy in a row here. I personally can't help out, as I have only been to Michigan in that dream the other night, but I know there are plenty of those who have visited consciously! laugh

Re: Collective Lighthousing, Part VIII - 02/08/05 03:15 AM

Greg, some of us choose to lay back for two reasons (1) to not dominate, so others can participate; Having been to 350+ lights in the US (and another 15 or so in Canada, eh), I can often contribute at least a few, but I would rather see a person who doesn't post often jump in there and see how easy it is to participate. And, (2) quite frankly I'm not going to scroll thru a hundred posts to find out if a light has been posted already.

If we could get more people to post here (old timers and newbies) we could get through Michigan much faster.

Sue...you did see 2 Michigan lights on the boat trip to Potawatomi: Poverty Island and St. Martin Island. There were a boat load of WACKOS on Lake Superior last Aug. that I know could be posting here.

Perhaps we should put Michigan aside for now, and pick it up later? A new state might help to pick the game back up.

OK, Greg... Let's do Missouri. I haven't been to the lighthouse in Missouri, so someone else will have to post that one.

Wow John, I think that's the only state with more stickers than lighthouses. wink

Re: Collective Lighthousing, Part VIII - 02/14/05 02:30 AM

Well you know Lorie I was thinking of those two when we did Wisconsin, but decided that maybe they were Michigan lights even though the Shanklins list them as being in Wisco. Then when we started Michigan I forgot about them. Oh well.

It just doesn't seem that more than a handful want to do this so maybe I'll just let it ride and maybe try again another time.

Re: Collective Lighthousing, Part VIII - 02/14/05 03:58 AM

To quote Simon and Garfunkel, we had a groovey thing goin', it just ran dry after a while. We simply ran out of sufficient states.

Maybe we can bring it back one day...the thing about the games forum is that it is a constant revolving door, with games dying and being born daily.
