Maidens Old Light, (Ireland)This is different than the light posted earlier as Maidens and then again as East Maidens. That one is the new, working lighthouse.

That's a mouthful Bryan! (I've recorded that light under the "M's" but thanks for the "H"!)
Helwick Lightship (LV91) (Swansea, Wales)This lightship is very similar to, but different from the one I posted previously which is located in Cardiff.)

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXVII - 08/18/02 05:32 AM
That stamp picture is a bit confusing to me Derith. It says and shows two lighthouses but the one on the right is the "Lighthouse at the End of the World or the Jules Verne Lighthouse in Patagonia. I found this neat picture:
http://hebergement.ac-poitiers.fr/c-font...ut_du_monde.htm I also found a French lighthouse called La Rochelle here:
http://hebergement.ac-poitiers.fr/c-font...la_rochelle.htm The odd thing is that the first one is shown at the bottom of the La Rochelle page in the link I found? Strange, n'est pas?

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXVII - 08/19/02 05:19 AM
Well La Rochelle seems to have a lighthouse, just a different one than shown on that stamp, guess the one on the site I found so I counted it, under the "R's".

Re: International Lighthouse Game--Part XXXVII - 09/05/02 05:13 PM
It's kind of interesting that that stamp from Antigua and Barbados shows a picture of the wrong lighthouse. Maybe it's worth some money if you can find one! If you go to that stamp site and Select "South Africa" and then the "Groenpunt" stamp it is the correct one. The english version is Greenpoint.

You are too good, Sue.....So, keep getting me straight...need some guidance in my old age. The real thing was brighter than the one I posted.
Now an "R" ...almost afraid for post one....but want to have 2,000 post by my birthday...must post, must post, must post!
Time for old folks to go to bed.....maybe tomorrow I'll find an "r", unless someone else beats me to the post.
