Kauhola Lighthouse - Hawaii

All,

Did we know the Coast Guard took this light down? And a while back too.

I saw this story a few months ago, Rick... I saw it after the fact also..

There was a link of the 10/28 story posted on the CF, probably around that time.

This is the first I've heard they followed through with the demolishion.

Sad to see another lighthouse lost!

We had posted a link to that story in our old Lighthouse Club weekly newsletter some time ago when it was happening. Don't recall if I posted in the Forums though.

I was lucky enough to actually get to see this one up close and personal on a trip to Hawaii in 2006.

The drive out was an adventure in and of itself. I tried to find the thread where I posted photos of it but I failed. Let's just say that it wasn't an easy trip even with a 4 wheel drive pickup truck.
