Re: June 15th Long Island Sound Clambake Raffle - 04/29/02 05:29 PM

It's always an honor to help dedicated preservationists raise funds for our lighthouses on Long Island (and have a chance to win something too).

Our check is going in the mail today Bob and I wish you good luck in raising a lot of money for this preservation effort.

I hope all of you folks join in and buy tickets.....Remember, the BIG WINNERS here are our LIGHTHOUSES.

Re: June 15th Long Island Sound Clambake Raffle - 05/27/02 06:31 PM

Just got 6 and wanted to let you know I'm on a roll so Old Field will look good on my new shelf. However, Horton Point will look good next to the LLOM Horton Point I won on my first ever raffle with you. But as always the lights win no matter what happens with the drawing.

Wish I could be there for the clam bake!

Good Luck to every one.

Chuck

Re: June 15th Long Island Sound Clambake Raffle - 06/08/02 05:24 PM

BoB,

Got my raffle tickets in the mail yesterday, and the pin sets I ordered. They look absolutely great. I guess I'll have to take up wearing a cap or something cause they are way too heavy for a shirt, sweater, or sweatshirt!

I'm going to put the autographed card in my book with my lighthouse papers!

Thanks!

Congrats to all the winners. While I didn't win, the lights did and in the end they always do, with groups like the LI/USLHS carrying out projects like this. Thanks to you. By your effort you become a great role model for all of us. However, I am sorry I missed the clambake You see there are not many clambakes here in Texas, that I know of anyway. I guess we'll have to make do with a crawfish boil Once this California boy learns to catch those pesky critters.lol That is, I think they're critters!

Good job,

Chuck

Wow!! I just opened this thread and am surprised to see that MJ and I won the Faulkner's Island. This piece will earn more money for a worthy lighthouse when it is auctioned in one of NELL's Silent Auctions. Who knows Bob maybe you will win it back and be able to do this all over again. Thank you so much.

Re: June 15th Long Island Sound Clambake Raffle - 06/27/02 07:44 AM

Wow was I surprised when I got back from vacation today, I found had this Grand prize from clambake raffle waiting for me! What a wonderful welcome home.
In addition the SE Block Wacko pin had arrived, and the 2002/03 membership pieces. Made getting home all better, I don't even mind ( at least not too much) all the dirty laundry that now has to be done.

Many thanks to Long Island Chapter, and RMS for donating the prize; am glad I could help with your fund raiser.
