HGTV, The National Trust & Bodie Island on TV

Bodie Island Lighthouse is one of the premiere sites for the Fourth of July on HGTV

HGTV and the National Trust for Historic Preservation have joined forces to save some of the country's endangered cultural sites. The network donated $1 million to help preserve 12 sites picked by the National Trust from the Save America's Treasures campaign.

Bodie island Lighthouse is one of the 12 sites that will share in the $1 million, and the first lighthouse ever to be chosen.

Watch the star-studded kickoff from Washington,Restore America Honors , premiering Friday, July 4, at 8 pm ET/PT.

Did anyone get to see the HGTV special last night, Restore America Honors ?

The clip last night on Bodie Island Lighthouse was very short...they were just introducing the 12 recipients for 2004.

The full version on each, including Bodie, is to be aired at different times from now through the end of 2004. I don't know the schedule at this point...but will try to find it out for you.

The filming of the Bodie episode was an event in itself!
