Thanks WACKOs from SE Block - 07/19/02 01:07 AM
Received the following letter today . . .
Dear Darlene,
On behalf of the Southeast Lighthouse Foundation, thank you for the generous donation of $2,404.12 from the Wacko Pin sale.
This donation arrives at a particularly good time as we are in the midst of raising $300,000 to match one of three grants now in place to restore the lighthouse. We expect a new roof to be installed this fall.
The grants will also re-point the extensive brick exterior, restore windows, porches, and also do extensive interior restorations. All of this is stated to occur in the next year-and-a-half. When completed, the lighthouse will serve as a museum of maritime history and support itself by the rental of two B and B suites in one portion of the building.
We are anxious to see the Southeast Lighthouse returned to its original architectural glory. The Wacko Pin purchasers have given a distinct boost to our efforts!
Thank you all very much.
Sincerely yours,
Gerald F. Abbott MD, President
Southeast Lighthouse Foundation
