Re: CLCS Fund Raising Raffle - 12/04/06 05:25 PM

Hello Everyone,

On Saturday 12/2/2007, we held the drawing for this raffle. The winners are as follows -

First Prize (#10 Race Rock) - Peggy Eastlund of Lakewood, CO

Second Prize (Hereford 4th Order Lens) - Del Lobb of Littleton, CO.

Third Prize (Oak Island GLOW) - Donna Lopp of Thornton, CO

We raised $310.00 for lighthouse preservation. At our 2/3/2007 meeting the club will select, hopefully, the lighthouse that the club will support with the funds raised.

A note of interest. Peggy's parents were the last lighthouse keepers at New Dungeness Light. She gave a talk about her family's time at New Dungeness, which included reading entries from a log her father, Dan Dewitt, had kept for the last months they spent at New Dungeness. The last entry described the turnover ceremony that occured on 9/2/1994 when the light was transfered to the New Dungeness Lighthouse Association by the Coast Guard.
