GOLD COAST LIGHTHOUSE CRUISE SET FOR MAY 3

On Saturday, May 3, the Long Island Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society will present a cruise to see six Long Island lighthouses. Leaving from Port Washington aboard the tri-level luxury yacht Skyline Princess, the cruise will see the Stepping Stones, Sands Point, Execution Rocks, Cold Spring Harbor, Eaton's Neck and Huntington Harbor lighthouses, as well as some of the famous mansions of Long Island's Gold Coast. Enjoy a continental breakfast and hot buffet lunch, as well as historic narration by Chapter president Bob Muller and live entertainment by Long Island's premier acoustic blues guitarist, Little Toby Walker (www.littletobywalker.com). Some former lighthouse keepers will be aboard to share stories of life at Long Island's lighthouses. Advance reservations are required; tickets are $75 for Chapter members, $85 for nonmembers. For more information, contact the Lighthouse Society at 631-207-4331, or visit www.LILighthouseSociety.org.

Esther and I will be there also. We're planning on getting to a bit of Long Island afterwards.

Hope to get to a number of Lighthouses starting with Montauk on Sunday.

Glad to hear so many of our forum friends will be joining us for our cruise!

I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed for good weather, although it snowed on LI last night and I'm beginning to wonder if spring will ever truly get here!

Tickets for the cruise are still available for anyone who is interested.

Since Beaconfollower asked, I figured I'd post some information on directions to this event in case anyone else needs them...

I put a map on the website to show the location
http://www.lilighthousesociety.org/events/2003/may3lighthousecruise/default.htm

We're departing from the North Hempstead Town Dock in Port Washington
...Which is right on the shore side of Main Street (called North Plandome Rd just a little further south - connects up with Plandome Rd and StonyTown Rd south of that - Plandome Rd connects up with Northern Blvd aka Rte 25A south of that)

If you click on the map on the webpage above, you can get driving directions and zoom in to the map.

See everyone there!
