Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 12/12/01 03:07 PM

Now that it's gettin gclose to the time when we can start sending out our postcards, I decided to print out the name and address list from the previous files. I can't seem to find the file labeled "PE7" when I open the link. Is anyone else having a problem with this?

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 12/15/01 11:45 PM

I'm not mentioning any names, but.... some have jumped the gun (1/1/02) and already started sending out the PE#7 cards. As punishment (LOL) these individuals must complete all the remaining Name The Flame Games.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/01/02 03:02 AM

Bill - I'm not sure anyone is jumping the gun. I think some people are just getting their cards out from earlier exchanges.

BUT, we are approaching time to send out the new cards from exchange #7 and mine are ready. Stamped by the keepers, addressed, stamped and written on by me and now sitting on the table taunting me, saying "mail me, mail me."

I'm going to talk with my daughter, the psychology major about this problem. Or maybe I'll just stick 'em in a mail box tomorrow.

Happy New Year.

Rich

I received the Port of Cleveland postcard today from "Pharologst". Great postcard! Thanks! Although I think you did jump the gun as the postmark was 12/28/01!! ;o)

My cards went out in the mail today! Hope you all enjoy it!

I received Pharologst's card (Cleveland) on 12/31/01. But it had no postmark! I'm going to steam the stamp off and reuse it.

Sounds like a double-barrelled gun jump! Received George's card, also without a postmark. Very nice, thank you!

Received George's Cleveland card yesterday. It also came without a postmark.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/04/02 06:31 AM

I don't understand how , if I put them in my mailbox on 12/29 ! one would be postmarked 12/28 and the others have no postmark????

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/04/02 05:58 PM

I.O. says that they may have stuck together George. Being new cards and in a bunch like that, who knows? Whatever, who cares? It's the first card for me in my first exchange. Maybe they will become variations and quite valuable, lol?

Just a thought - assuming everyone sends the same card to all the others and not everyone recieves a particular person's card the same day - doesn't posting here sort of spoil the surprise for those who recieve the card later rather than sooner? Guess one could just not read the posts for a bit.

For information on Grays Harbor Lighthouse go here: http://westportwa.com/museum/index.html

If you need additional information, you know where I am. And if you plan to go to West Port, stay at The Breakers and eat at The Inn of the West Wind. This is our home away from home.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/11/02 03:34 AM

Who is Elaine? I don't have anyone by that name on my list.
Posted By: DeDo

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/11/02 04:11 AM

Hi everyone, Elaine Hayko is one of the people on postcard list #5 which just ended. I didn't receive a card from her today but she is one of the four on the #5 list that I didn't receive from, so I guess it will be down to three late senders when her card arrives here.

Did receive two cards today. Nice Marshall Point from Bill (still have to visit that one) and a beautiful Split Rock from Terry. That is a total of seven from list #7. Sue's Stonington, Rich's East Brother, Morris Island, Port of Cleveland & Nubble. Now I have to get some stamps & be a bit more timely than list #5 which I mailed in December.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/15/02 11:06 AM

After picking up vacation's held mail at Post Office, we had seven great cards:
Terry -- Morris Island (our last stop of the trip!)
Sue -- Stonington (our our list to see!)
Elaine -- Point Pinos (reminder of last year's trip)
Terry "TD" -- Split Rock (yes we have to get to MN & WI to see lights!)
Rich -- East Brothers (another great reminder of last year's trip)
Bill -- Bodie (one of my favorites from Outer Banks)
Linda -- Nubble all decked out for Christmas

Thanks all ... while on our trip got extra cards (everyone won't be getting the same card) ... they will be going out in the next month (after I catch up on everything!)

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 01/31/02 06:07 AM

Received Larry's Concord Point in today's mail. First postcard I have of that light. Visited it several times as our oldest is a senior at U of Delaware, not too far away.

Carol's card of Barnegat is the first I have of that light too. Thanks too, to Jakers for his Great Lakes light.

I'm starting to think about getting mine going but since I just mailed the the last group's (#5) late December I don't want to be too punctual!

The latest cards that came were from Carol (The Barnegat Light) which we climbed last October and the Tawas Point Light from Jakers.

They came through in great shape.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 02/02/02 04:30 PM

I, unlike many others, have not kept track of cards received from any of the exchanges (1 thru 5) that I have participated in. So let me just say a BIG THANK YOU to all for the cards I have received. I really enjoy them and look forward to the mail, except for bills , everyday!! My HL lighthouse collection, my HL box collection, and my postcard collection continue to grow.

Re: Continuation of postcard exchange#7 - 02/03/02 02:04 AM

Hello? I am in this postcard exchange, but since I was without a computer for two months when the address label list was posted, I was unable to get the address list. I tried to follow Pharologst's directions to his address list now, but I do not find it posted anymore. Could someone please email the address list to me in possibly MS Word format?

Thanks!
