2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope

Posted By: Webmaster

2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 12/04/00 05:52 PM

For those who like to collect pristine post cards, this exchange will ask that your post cards be mailed in a #10 envelope and with any comments not written on the card itself. You may include any comments on a separate paper mailed in the envelope.

If you don't care about the condition of the received cards, use this exchange instead: Postcards mailed without envelopes

First 25 sign-ups will constitute this exchange with post cards to be mailed between January 1 and June 30, 2001.

I'm in for #1.

Is this going to be for 1 card per envelope or more?

Re: 2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 12/04/00 08:21 PM

1 card per envelope x 24 individuals (not including yourself) = 24 cards to buy and mail + 1 for the Youngers.

We'll be 7, but everyone will have to wait until after February 14 for the cards...we will be buying postcards on our trip to the West Coast.

(with a request for Dennis--Please send either a Sea Girt or Absecon postcard if you have either as we could not get any on the NJ tour)

#XX Everybody below me move up one slot. I guess I was a couple of french fries short of a happy meal when I jumped in. I confused the two exchanges and prefer the personal notes. Have fun everyone.

Re: 2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 12/05/00 05:58 AM

It just so happens that part of my plans for the next go round was to send Sea girt cards. I traded 10 Sandy hook cards for 10 Sea Girt cards with Pharologist after his trip to NJ. I had the same problem myself. they were both sold out when i got there on Lighthouse 2000 Weekend.

I'll make sure you get one of the Sea Girts Patty.

Re: 2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 01/12/01 04:57 AM

Why not. I'll do the mailing list. Those that have not participated in John's first exchange or the now on-going third exchange can e-mail me your snail mail addresses and I will compile the list.

I received a nice post card of Ohio Lighthouses in the mail today from Joe. You are very fast with your cards considering the problems you were having with your e-mail!

Joe just has more faith in the real mail person than the e-mail monster! I also got the very nice Ohio LH card today. It sure made the trip to UT in record time!

Re: 2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 02/01/01 06:30 AM

I also got the Ohio Lighthouses card. I'm hoping to get to some of them in the near future.

My brother has moved again(10 time in about 15 years) and he's gone from FL to Ohio this time. He's just east of cleveland.

It'll will be a three-fer- Lighthouse, Rock & Roll Museum and my brother and his family. Probably in that order.

Well gang, ...If you're in the postcard exchange that is mailed in an envelope, you should have mine in the beginning of next week. I shipped them all out this morning. Some of you will be receiving more than one card as a special thank you for past favors, etc.

I have received two post cards that were very nice pics of lighthouses of Ohio and one of Plymouth Massachusetts. I mailed mine out over a week ago. Has everyone else sent theirs?

Re: 2001 Post Card Exchange - Mailed in Envelope - 02/18/01 04:38 AM

It is neat getting two postcards in the mail. So far I have received three:

Split Rock Light, Plymouth, and Lighthouses of Ohio. There are some unusual lights in Ohio. I am always amazed at the many different forms of architecture that was used.
