Need 8 volunteers.....

With the extra exchange that has been started, we are off schedule with the normal even/odd routine (even = in envelope, odd = no envelope). So, I will offer the following opportunity for just 8 people (actually 9, but I told our new German member, Werner, that I would save him a spot if he wants to participate).

Anyway, to help fill in the time till I start another normal size exchange, I am going to do a "quick and dirty" IN envelope exchange. This will be different than we normally do:

• A total of only 10 members. That means I need 8 volunteers...

• This exchange will run May 15 to June 15 - only 30 days, so if you sign up you need to be ready to go.

• To keep this to only 10 cards, we will not include HL or Connie Small in this exchange.

• I would like to encourage new comers to join in this mini exchange, so you experienced post card exchangers hold off for a couple days if you would, please. Let's say new comers means no more than 2 exchanges.

I am not overly thrilled about having 3 exchanges going at the same time, but want to get our numbering back into synch. Sorry if we get anyone confused, but I would like to see the other 9 folks in this exchange be new comers so this shouldn't affect PCE 9 or 10 significantly). This will be exchange #11 (or PCE 11)

Sometime in mid June I plan to start up another full size in envelope exchange to run from July 1 to Oct 31.

Dave, it sounds like you need to post some form of guidelines that all who wish to start an exchange should adhere to.

The postcard exchange process was getting a little confusing unless you paid close attention. I think too many exchanges operating at the same time with different start and end dates tends to confuse the postcard receivers unless the cards are have the exchange number written on them (i.e. PC #9).

I'm pretty sure I've participated in each and every exchange so far. I have a wonderful collection of lighthouse postcards that have filled two albums and I now need to buy another.

Hopefully, we will be able to keep the process simple and fun.

Two other "volunteers" have emailed me that they would like to participate. I also have several "experienced" post card exchangers that have volunteered if there is room.

I will leave this open for new comers until Monday, then I will fill in any openings from the "standby" list. So, any more new comers please sign in and indicate your interest......

I mailed my cards for this quick & dirty swap yesterday.

My cards are in the envelopes along with a photo of same that I took yesterday. Envelopes are addressed and stamped and awaiting the US Postal Service to pick them up.

FYI, mine will probably be at the wire. Am lucky enough to be going to a seminar in DC, so am going to figure out which direction to wander, so I'll send mine from "on the road." Thanks for the great cards so far, It is facinating to think of how many lighthouse postcards are really out there and how easy they are to find.

OK folks, we are in the final week of this "quick" exchange. Time to be getting those cards into the mail. Mine should be in the hands of the USPS tomorrow after I add the finishing touches tonight. Everyone gets the same card, and it is even of a real light this time!

Well, I got the cards, printed the labels, put the labels on the the envelopes, printed the info sheet, and found out the cards don't fit in the envelope. Will get bigger ones and get them in the mail by the 15th.

Just wanted to let everyone know, mine were placed in the mail on Saturday after we visited the lighthouse and the USPS was around the corner.
