PCE#20 in envelope cards received

PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 02/29/04 09:19 AM

I thought it was less confusing to start a new topic on the cards I have received in an envelope so far.

I received 2 envelopes in the mail today:

One was from Mombo(Sue) from a lighthouse adventure she had with Jakers. Another new card and a place I have never visited. Thanks for the card and extra goodies. wink

The other envelope that came in today was from Derith. Her card is from a city I love to visit. Her lighthouse trip sounds sooo fun. laugh It's too bad I already have another trip scheduled at the same time. frown Thanks for the nice card.

Thanks Sue for the great card, don't have one like it. Looks like a fun place to go and accessible. May have to plan a trip for this summer up to your neck of the woods.

One things to remember, please: Don't forget to SIGN YOUR NOTE or somehow include your name and the PCE # in the write up! It will help folks years from now when they are trying to remember who sent what........

Sue's envelope arrived today and is a nice addition to the collection. Thanks Sue for the photo and write-up also.

Thanks, Derith. Received your card and write-up yesterday. We've been to this lighthouse a couple times, but didn't get the opportunity to climb to the top. frown

Thanks Mombo for the nice card and all the extras. I enjoyed reading about Sodus Point Lighthouse.

Thanks Derith for the Alcatraz postcard. I took a boat tour that passed this lighthouse in 2001. However, we didn't have time to see the lighthouse up close. I wish I could join you on your California-Oregon-Washington 40 lighthouse tour! It sounds great. Unfortunately we'll be vacationing on San Juan Island in Washington State at that time. Have fun!

Thanks Mombo for your winter postcard, summer photos and very informative letter. How lucky you are to have a lighthouse so close. smile

.....and last, but not least, thanks for the Texas postage stamp!!

Tom & Joyce,

Thanks for history and photos of this lighthouse. Lighthousing and birding...sounds like the perfect trip to me.

Re: PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 03/20/04 04:36 PM

Sue...I should correct how I worded that statement. I had never been to this place before this past week. I had to search every store to find the post card that I sent out. Thank goodness I had patient friends with me to help me look for them. John was scuba diving while I was on the search.

Re: PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 03/21/04 06:46 AM

Ah, I see. Obviously I took the wrong meaning. I know what you mean about searching Lorie. When I was in New Bedford I looked quite a few places before I found a card, and then had to go to two different stores to get enough for an exchange. You'd think a town that had a bunch of lighthouses would have some cards! I'll look forward to receiving this next one from you! smile

Re: PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 03/23/04 03:39 AM

Well, I received Lorie's card today and it is unique! Another one that is not in your I would venture to guess. I have read about the person Lorie mentioned in her write up - probably either Lighthouse Digest or the USLHS Keepers Log magazine.

Re: PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 03/23/04 11:26 PM

Lorie's lighthouse was built in 1938? but has a very suspicious space needle look. Holy Jules Vernes! I think this guy has done what we all wished we could do. Build an Aid to Navigation, save a burial plot nearby and arrange for an Annual Celebration even after we're gone on a beautiful tropical island. Mine of course would start maybe 50 years before burial, and become an annual "wacko" event. cool

Lorie, thanks for another card we don't have in our collection. We picked up 12 days of mail at the post office upon our return from the regional. Your card was a bright light in the huge stack of junk mail and bills.

Being away from home so much, I haven't been able to post my in envelope receipts and am going to try and indicate my receipts up till now ...

Received a nice card, pictures, and write-up from Sue (Mombo) in February. Also received from Derith in February ... had she ever been in residence there? Early in March we received a card from Tom & Joyce and about a week ago received the Belize card from the travellin' Roe's ..... very nice cards and info. Thanks to all.

Have picked up the cards we'll be sending out and will try to get them in the mail before we head off to Mexico later this month. smile eek

Hi Everyone,

I mailed my postcards for this exchange today. I haven't visited any lighthouses outside of Minnesota since my trips to the Apostle Islands in August and September. So, you can probably guess which lighthouse you'll get. I know that some of you have already received postcards of this lighthouse in previous exchanges. I hope it's not the same card. I didn't time the seasons right either. Still, I hope you like the card.

Suzanne's postcards and extras arrived today! Nice timing. I'm exciting for the lighthouse walk in May. I recognized the picture on one of the postcards immediately when I saw it. I probably shouldn't spoil the surprise for others. Thank you!!

Dan's card came in today. A very interesting "light". From the height of it, it must make a big impact on the waterfront.

Mail must have been in a big hurry to get to Utah - guess it was trying to make up for my PCE21 card that took the scenic route. I also received Dan's non-traditional card today, one I don't think has been used in an exchange yet.

Re: PCE#20 in envelope cards received - 05/18/04 01:34 AM

Sorry I didn't post when the two cards went out but I was rushing around trying to get things done in time for Headlights for Lighthouses. Everyone should have received these packages (all the same) that included Morgan Point, Noank, CT (sans lantern room) and Mystic Seaport (Brant Point Replica) Mystic, CT along with two sheets of images I took this past January during Lighthouses, Hot Chocolate & YOU when Kim was with us.

Thank you all for your wonderful additions to my collection. I will be sending the PCE without the envelope soon.

Ron and Mary Jane,

Thanks for the cards and the nice letter with all of the photos. I'm interested to know what kind of printer you used for your letter. It's great quality.

Thanks again,

Tammy, I used the Epson Stylus Photo R300 that I purchased new from Best Buy for only $179. I think it is the best printer I have ever owned. After printing the originals I took the two sheets to Office Max to have copies made.

Mine are in mail this morning! A little late but hopefully worth the wait. I had these envelopes stuffed with most of the contents for three months, trying to find a photo I had made. Needless to say you'll have to wait for next pc exchange for the photo which I still haven't found!
