So how many different lighthouse postcards are in your collection?? My collection is only ~3 years old and I have right at 600 dfferent cards (not necessarily different lighthouses).

Who has the biggest collection, and who has been collecting the longest or most recent starter?

I counted George, sort of!

Of the new variety I have 230 cards.

Of the written on kind I have 143. Most of these are from exchanges but a few are not. I do have a few duplicate which I didn't include.

Now some of the new and "used" cards are the same but I counted them all so my total of "different" card would be somewhat less. But then I didn't count up the older ones from postcard shows, etc. so all in all perhaps the total # of different card would be about the same as the two numbers mentioned above?

Hello,

Wow! 600 is a lot of cards for only 3 years!

I couldn't count my postcards before yesterday because I didn't have them organized. We were going to go to Split Rock yesterday, but it was cloudy and it drizzled most of the day. So, I took the opportunity to organize my postcards. With the brochures, etc., I already filled up an album.

I'm probably one of the newest collectors. I had collected postcards years ago, but stopped at some point. Although I have been buying postcards to mail on vacations, I didn't start to collect them for myself again until I noticed the postcard exchanges on this forum earlier in 2003. I did find a few lighthouse postcards that I had purchased prior to 2003...probably ones that I had intended to send but didn't.

My total # of unduplicated (not written on) lighthouse postcards is 155. (There may be a few others I haven't located yet, and I didn't count the ones with writing on them.) I just participated in my first exchange. The majority of the others are from my trip to Washington State and the Apostle Islands this year. Keeper of the Light in Bayfield, Wisconsin, had a nice selection of Michigan lighthouse postcards in addition to the Apostle Islands. Plus, I have a few from Hawaii, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Puerto Rico and Vancouver Island from last year. I am too lazy to figure out how many unique lighthouses I have, though I did count the states because that's how I organized them. I have postcards from 19 states, plus Puerto Rico and Canada.

I have 482 cards. I didn't count a duplicate card but did count it if it was the same lighthouse but a different card. I counted the written on cards and unwritten on together.

I started collecting lighthouse postcards with the first PCE. I think that was the fall of 1999.

My collection has jumped to almost 800 (different) as I bought a collection of cards on eBay from the 60's & 70's of which I didn't have very many to begin with.

It is becoming tidious to keep them all sorted. Originally I kept them all sorted by Country/State/City/Lighthouse. Right now I'm at least keeping up with Country/State.

I have 141 different postcards .... some are different pictures of the same light however. PCE #19 is the first exchange I'm participating in through the Forums. I have eschanged cards several times with exchanges sponsoed by the Derby Club in Louisville.

Looking to catch up with y'all. laugh
