Antique Cards - 05/19/10 06:35 AM

I can't remember whether I've posted these before or not. They are not for sale or trade, but I thought they might be of interest. They were sent by my grandfather to my grandmother.

My grandfather was D.M. Yerkes and he addresses the post cards to Mrs D. M. Yerkes (my grandmother). She was apparently living with her father-in-law Martin VanBuren Yerkes in Berwyn at that time.

Loved that last note on the Cape Hatteras Light PC:

"...the finest light house in America, lens cost $15,000" Priceless!

Cool cards Rosalie, my favorites are the one of Diamond Shore lightship and the shipwreck one.
I collect antique cards with lighthouses/lightships. The bulk of my collection has been obtained from Ebay, but I always look around for them when I am in an antique store as well.

Thanks for sharing them.

Neat cards Rosalie, thanks. Also like your grandmother's father-in-law's name! Reminds me a bit of what my grandmother named her son, my uncle - Homer Edison Mozart Look!!!
