Harbour Lights- Knights of the not so round table

Well it finally happened the "Knights of the not so Round table" made it on ebay. Only one bidder and all twelve went for a bargain price of only $99.
As far as I know that makes only three collectors that has the complete set.

The "Knights of the not so round table" was an experimental issue that was Bill Youngers idea. Only a handfull of dealers sold them and the dealers I talked to, liked them and thought they were selling well. But when they asked for more to sell they found out that what they had was all there was. I am pretty sure that this is the smallest production of a Harbour Light product that has been ever sold through a US HL dealer.

I've searched and searched for a few Spitfire the Dragon, but never were able to locate a single one. Where did they all go? How many were made?

Put a forward search in eBay, Bob... I believe they have that function.. I have the feeling there were less than 500 or so that got to dealers before they dropped the line.. There was only one of the 14 HL dealers in Indy that chose to carry them..

I happen to be the individual that purchased the Not So Round Table figures. I thought I had read something about them on the forum but didn't remember exactly what was said. I kept waiting for someone from the forum to bid on them, but nobody did. I was quite surprised when they sold for the opening bid. Now that I have them, can someone tell me what I have? I would appreciate any information you can give me about them and why Harbour Lights would be involved with something so far removed from lighthouses.

First Introduction on the forum about the "Knights of the not so round table"

I really don't know a heck of a lot about the "Knights", but I do know that what you have should be a set of collectibles that is quite rare.

According to Paul there are probably less than 500 sets that ever made it to dealer shelves. One would imagine that many of those sets didn't remain intact and people bought what they liked individually.

Will a complete set of the "Knights" ever be a desireable must-have collectible? Stranger things have happend, but for $99 you may have a good investment if and when that time ever comes.

To add to the above information, I found out that the Artist is a British Artist who's name is Jeff Page.
I have my doubts that the Knights ever reached the 22 dealers. I did a dealer search over a year ago on the way back machine and could only find four dealers. One dealer was out of bussiness and two of them were under same ownership. In my opinion there was alot less than 500 made. I will talk to the two remaining dealers again and try and find out how many they purchased.

As I have said earlier, I only know of one other beside you and myself that is on this forum, that has a complete set. Does anyone else have a complete set?

Actually the title of this thread is incorrect, Daniel.. Harbour Lights did not produce the Knights, they were produced by Younger and Associates which of course also produced Harbour Lights.. But they were separate from Harbour Lights, much like the balloons..

For the title I was kind of quoting the seller that they were made by Harbour Lights.
But I also said that the “Knights of the not so round table” was probably the smallest production of a Harbour Light product that has been ever sold through a US HL dealer. The proper wording would have been, the smallest production of a Younger & Associates product. What this means if you are a Harbour Lights collector you are not obligated to collect The Knights. But if you are a collector of rare products by Younger and Associates you may want to look into finding a set.

One interesting thought: Before the Harbour Light buy-out Anchor Bay was not a product of Harbour lights either but was made exclusively for Younger and Associates (as written on my skipjack Nancy). While the Guardians of the knight has written on their box Made by Harbour Lights.

Also, as I was trying to piece together a set, I did come upon a couple of the figurines that had a sticker under them saying “Harbour Knights” None of the others had this sticker or did the pictures of the ones Scott just won.

When they first came out I said I wasn't going to collect them and even forgot about them.
But a while back bobO brought the subject up and then I realized how neat they are and that they are a part of Bill Younger History.
Again this is an example of how this forum and its members is a must have tool for collecting Harbour Lights and Younger stuff.

While on the subject sort of, I thought this might be interesting to collectors who weren't collecting prior to 1998..

I believe the ships moved over to under the Harbour Lights banner shortly after that..

The Knights actually should fall under the Harry history more than the Bill history..

Based on the pictures posted, it looks like an advertising sheet was also included. How many folks have that?
