New FL member

Hi from a new member. It is so nice to read all the postings. I started collecting HL about 2 years ago. I have 22 so far,some old some new. I live in Florida but travel all over for work. This weekend we visited 2 lighthouses in NC. It is so nice to see the original then find the replica. Any help to a novice collector is always appreciated. Looking forward to being a part of something so special. Debbie

If you are in the Houston area let us know. The Houston Light Keepers are always available for information on the Texas lights. There is a vast amount of information available on all sorts of things concerning lighthouses. There the photography, clubs, fund raising, lights to visit, more and more and more.

Good luck is navigating your way thru it all, but remember if you get lost just ask a Cruise Director or send an SOS and help will come. People here are always willing to help and weight in on a subject.

Hi Debbie,
Many, as you have read, are from FL. I am not far from you in Valrico. My trips to Leesburg carried me right thru Polk City.

You are more than welcome to visit our Tampa Bay HL club. We are very active in the preservation of Anclote Key and enjoy getting together at meetings and on bus trips. The next trip will be to St. Marks lighthouse and Cape St. George the weekend of October 26th. Our big trip will take us to CA and OR in the summer of 2003. So, lots going on....come join us.

Glad to have you on the Forums...this is by far the best website on the internet!

A big welcome to you Debbie. I have to say though that I don't think you are a "novice collector" with 22 lighthouse's under your belt. You won't be sorry if you join up with the Tampa Bay Club, they are a great bunch of people who work really hard at preserving lighthouses.
