West Regional... or Fall Regional!! - 09/08/02 04:18 AM

My lovely wife, Sue, and Dave Hannum, staff the Hoosier Lighthousing table, while 1 of the 5 'Brady lighthousing presentations' was playing on the screen behind them.... Mark Wagner is making a cameo appearance from our Club's Spring Cleaning presentation...

Two of the first lighthouse enthusiasts to arrive for today's Regional were Rich and his wife, Cam, shown with Bill getting a couple of their lighthouses signed...

Dale and his wife, Diana, visit with Dave Hannum at the Hoosier Lighthousing Club's table...

Digger’s drawing of Michigan City Pier Light (from Hoosier Lighthousing Club) was won by Stephanie Ferrari of Reno, NV... today the club raised over $150... for the spiral staircase fund at the Old Michigan City Lighthouse...

I thought I would give you all a closer look at the pumpkins in Gold. We are heading to breakfast, then the airport and the flight back to Indy and work tomorrow.... It's been a great trip and I hope everyone enjoyed the travelogue as we went along... I enjoyed doing it!

And a special thank you for giving us a 'snapshot' for the Fall Regional.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to share your pictures and commentary, Paul. That gold Fort Tompkins sure looks great! I would have loved to add that to the other four Fort Tompkins in my collection. What a beauty!!!

Paul, Thanks for sharing your photos with us. It made me feel like I was able to take the tour right along with you. I enjoy seeing photos of lights that I may never see in person. There is no way that I could ever see every light there is and by sharing them you fill a gap for me and for others on the forum. THANKS!

You have the best trips...it's so much fun to go along with you and Susie...I've seen all of Oregons lights but have not seen any of the Northern California lights...makes me want to take our next trip up that way. Thanks for the great show. Hey Dave, when are you going to post the pictures you took on this trip?

Stephanie,

I didn't have mine on at the taking of that picture. Once I got it from Dave I proudly wore it the rest of the day laugh . Look closely at my hat (A Harbour Lights hat). you can see the first wacko pin Morris Island on the side. Also on the hat are several collector society pins and the other wacko pin. All worn with pride!!!

Dave and Paul did have on their Hoosier Collector club shirts though.

Jeff Marsh had his on as did Rich R. Way to go guys!

Dale sent me this image of himself and the three HLC-ters at the Regional, that was shot by Diane...

Stephanie you might want to take a look at what Dale has around his neck.. in fact I think that the Bradys were the only Wackos that forgot their Wacko badges at home packed in a box with other HLC materials so we wouldn't forget them for the next club event...oops we didn't haul that box around on the plane and 1800 miles through the mountains. I am going to put them with my laptop from now on since I never leave home without it...

Way to go guys!

I realy do like these badges! We all talk to one another back and forth on the forums. But then if we go to an event and don't personaly know one another, we could bump elbos all day long and never know it. But if we all ware our badges, then one day at some event you just might say "hay you see that short fat gal over there?" "That's Shortcake!" I know that's her because I see it on her badge. Then maybe you will come up and say Hi!

With or without the badge Stephanie I would still know you and I would never say that short fat gal - I'd say - "That one over there that has the Wacko badge - that use to be my friend until she got me hooked on the Collector Forum - Doctor it's her fault I'm in here! She's the Wacko no me!" laugh

This one is to Bob M:
You may get your wish....one of the Fall Gold Fort Tompkins is going up for auction tonight at Ebay. It will be listed as "Gold Harbour Lights Fort Tompkins Lighthouse". I am selling it for my sister (Mary Vaughan).
Paul, you take beautiful pictures! I hope you don't mind me using the one you took of Mary, Bill, and the other 2 winners. I will be sure to give you honorable mention as well as this site! A friendlier place I have never been. Thank You All! laugh irishdragon@tds.net

Re: West Regional... or Fall Regional!! - 10/04/02 08:46 AM

Well, tried to get a blurb for the site in there and did so on one line, but as soon as I tried to promote the site, Ebay snagged me on it. I really wanted all those lighthouse lovers that aren't members here to see what they're missing by not visiting here. Well, maybe they'll see that one line and get curious....

Every once in awhile, an eBay censor (I think they're volunteers) exercises their ultimate power and chops your tree down. The censor might have visited the site and saw the New Marketplace and figured it might be competition they didn't want to advertise.
