Who is going to the Jacksonville signing?

Who is going to the Jacksonville signing? - 07/31/00 05:05 PM

Hi everyone.

I'll be taking my family to the Jacksonville signing event with Bill Younger at Edgewater Treasures on August 5th. Since this is my first event, I was wondering what to expect. Is it OK to bring a couple of lighthouses for a signiture? Will there be anyone else there from the forum? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jack

My family and I will be there. My wife and I will be wearing our wacko pins. This will be my third signing event at Edgewater Treasures. Vera is the Manager. She and her employees are outstanding people.

Yes, you can bring extra Lighthouses for Bill to sign. The usual is two lighthouses per person. But it isn’t unusual for people to bring more than that to be signed. They will have plenty of tables that will in circle Bill. Just pick an empty table and unpack your lighthouses. Bill will go from table to table signing them. Edgewater is a popular Harbour Light dealer so you can bet it will be crowded.

They will have free gifts and snacks. Edgewater is at the Landing. A neat building that over looks the river. The bad thing about it is that it is hard to find parking.

See ya there.

Daniel,

Thanks for the reply. My wife and I will be there with our 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. Luckily, they are big lighthouse fans and especially love trying to find the seahourses.

I'll call Vera to ask about the number of lighthouses I can bring. I already have HOTM on order with them.

We'll also keep our eyes open for the wacko pins!

I intend to be there also. Have not been to a signing there seeing as how I have only been collecting for a year or so. Did go to one in Altamonte Springs last year. Will be proudly wearing my Wacko Pin. See you all there.

Joanne,

Yes, I was able to go to the Jacksoneville signing and it was great. This was the first time my wife and I have had a chance to meet Bill Younger and we are still commenting on what a nice guy he is. He made a big fuss over our two children. Our son, who is 6, couldn't wait to tell Bill that he is the "Seahorse Master" of the house, because he can find them on all of our pieces.

Now we are talking about going to see Bill again at the Orlando regional on the 19th.

Jack,
Did your son the "Seahorse Master" actually get Bill to acknowledge the existence of seahorses on HLs? Bill realy does like kids and makes a special point of talking with them and encouraging their interest in lighthouses. Glad you had a good time.

Dave,

Now that I think about it, I think he dodged the the seahorse issue with a comment like, "So, you like seahorses. What other animals do you like?" If we go to Orlando next weekend I'll try to have my son ask again.

Joanne,
Yes my wife and I made it to the signing and had a wonderful time as always. Wore my
Wacko Pin but didn't see any others wearing their "colors". As always besides seeing Bill again, we met other collectors and swapped stories. I would be going to Orlando next weekend also if I wasn't going to be out of town. I guess the next event here is Jax is a Rep event at another dealer on 10/7/00.
