Headlights for Lighthouses Cruise? - 01/03/04 05:44 PM

Has anyone heard anything from this car club about the car cruise going down in May? I submitted payment months ago, and as of yet heard nothing from this club nor has my check been cashed. After a few months a person starts to wonder about this. Several e-mails to the club has also brought no response. Is anyone from here planning on attending, and if so, have you heard anything yet?

I have not received any emails from you about the event. We have about 40 registration packets going out this week to registered participants. We had run out of hotel brochures and recently received them, so maybe that will explain any delay. Sorry for any confusion.

Hey Roxie, ...Maybe you should list the particulars of the event again for those new members of the CF that may not know about it and us old guys who basically forgot about it. One of those "who, what, where, when, and how" would be appropriate.

Okay Bob - Here's the info! smile

This cruise is open to everyone and all types of vehicles are welcome. From your everyday driver to your classic ride!

Would you like an opportunity to take a Spring drive on Cape Cod, see it from Woods Hole in Falmouth to the beautiful dunes of Provincetown? You can enjoy the drive with other Classics and Musclecars, and help a very good cause! The FFCC is pulling out all the stops for a monumental event, an event that we hope to add to our calendar evey year... Headlights For Lighthouses Car Cruise. We have worked with many different groups and organizations to create this event. Join us for the fun!

On Friday May 14, 2004 we kick off the event at the Holiday Inn in Falmouth with the Lighthouse Art and Expo, which will run from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We will have artists and vendors selling their wares - items that relate to both themes of lighthouses and automobiles! There will be light refreshments. Plus this is the opportunity for those who have pre-registered to check in before everyone else.

On Saturday May 15, 2004 the cruise begins. Registration is open at the Holiday Inn from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Local radio stations will be on hand broadcasting the day. The suggested route is (in order to be able to tour the lighthouses) is to start in Woods Hole at Nobska Lighthouse, from there it's on to the Bass River Lighthouse (The Lighthouse Inn) in Dennis, from there we go to Chatham Lighthouse, then to Nauset Light in Eastham, and the Three Sisters Lighthouses, off to Highland Lighthouse in Truro and Ending up at Race Point in Provincetown. The tour depends on how long you stop at each destination, stops for food, etc. We expect people should complete the tour between 2 and 4 pm. We will meet up at Skippy's Pier 1 Restaurant in Yarmouth between 2 and 4 pm. Awards and raffle winners will be at 4:30 pm. The American Lighthouse Foundation will be having their conference/dinner that evening at Skippy's starting around 6:30 pm. (Those tickets are purchased separately).

On Sunday May 16, 2004 we are offering a couple of events to wrap up the weekend. One is a Martha's Vineyard cruise and Island tour, which will be a day trip over to the Island, including lighthouses. The American Lighthouse Foundation will be kicking off the day with a breakfast at the Ramada Inn in Hyannis. After that there will be some special happenings at the Holiday Inn in Falmouth, including a Harbour Lights event book signing and lots more. laugh
